fighters keep track of their weight during the cut. They don't make exactly the weight needed by accident.
I dunno what happened one way or the other, but that reaction Khabib gave could just as, if not more easily be interpreted as him just being relieved he hit the target. He had a rough cut and was dehydrated, so he probably didn't have the wherewithal to work some dastardly scheme on the scale or keep a close eye on the bar. If he weighed in backstage beforehand like it's being suggested, he might have been right on weight, and in that instance there's still reason to be a bit nervous when you weigh in again. We've seen fighters miss weight and then say they were on weight when they were weighed beforehand. Maybe there's some shady shit going on, maybe not, but I think you're reading a bit too hard into something that isn't the smoking gun you're making it out to be.
