I'm not a fan at all. One of the only threads I made on here was to hate on him for some tomfoolery at a local BJJ comp.

But he was the biggest UK name on the card after Aspinall and it's in his hometown.

You stack all the big names on the main card then nobody is going to show up until later. The time slot for this is pretty bad for UK time. They pushed meatball on the prelims even though she is somewhat popular. She was part of the main cards for events in UK. Muhammad has always been a prelim guy until his last fight?

I honestly believe it has something to do with Manel's past post fight interview saying the F word (more than it has to do with Mokaev). They obviously didn't liked it and don't want the possibility of it to happen again on live TV knowing how hot headed he can be.

I also think it's some sort of "punishment" for Manel who missed weight a couple of times that led to some of his fights being cancelled. Having his fight on early prelims won't mess up the main card *if ever he did missed weight again (thankfully he made it, 125.5). Kinda like a prevention thing

No one cares about 125 + he's boring
No one cares about anyone else on the prelims either. Mokaev v Kape should be at least be headlining the prelims. Mokaev has 2 million Instagram followers, he's far more popular than anyone else on the prelims and Kape is more popular than anyone there outside of Molly McCann. It's a bizarre card placement.

If you still disagree, feel free to make a thread about Marcin Prachnio and see if it gets more traction than this one.

You don’t think Edwards has a “big name”? Even though he’s the ME? The undisputed, defending, champion?

I said after Aspinall.

Leon's above Aspinall.

I reckon Aspinall will eclipse him soon though. The difference in mic presence between the 2 is night and day.

Leon is a big draw in the UK apparently

Your grammar was incorrect. I’ll allow it.

I don't think he'll have much staying power. He's quite awkward in front of the camera, and you can't make a career off of "headshot dead" when all your other fights are boring decisions.

Flyweights + Kape being unreliable + Mokaev putting on a stinker in his last fight

It's not that hard to get tbh.

From the main card to the middle of the early prelims is brutal.

I could understand it if he was headlining the prelims like they did to figgy once I think.

Put #1 contender fights on the prelims and wonder why flyweights aren’t popular. They’ve been doing it for years.
To be fair, Jiri fought as the feature prelim before the rematch for the title, that position is supposed to be good, people should complain when their guy is fighting on the early prelims, not the "prelim headliner".
