Lets talk fishing

Braid to me is finesse

Can almost guarantee in most cases fish don’t see it don’t mind it or too dumb to know what’s up.

Fish imo get spooked by pineal spider senses of something not being ‘right’ not because they know what line is or what a hook is. I’ve seen some absolutely whack looking worm rigs (Japanese) flat out slay

Anyways with that in mind I’m exclusively and confidently braid
  • It casts a shit ton further therefore more coversge
  • Way more sensitive
  • No line twists
  • Zero stretch or memory unlike mono
  • A newly spooled w braid lasts a couple years sometimes years
  • Its stronger than mono or flouro sans abrasion
  • You can a ton load more on a spool particularly 1.0 PE on a 3-4000 spool
  • Way better for lure action when it comes to sticks and jigs
  • My leaders are typically 4-5ft long if not longer in reefy areas

Yea I’ll never spool flouro or mono ever again

Im also not a stickler for color….i honestly don’t think it matters and is more just echo chamber BS. Yea lots and lots of echo chambers in fishing. A lot of quid pro quo fallacy reasoning

Bonefish are the only exception I’ve seen to the rule. They’re like black crow smart, extremely fickle and extremely spooky. Even with them tho color don’t matter much within reason. I’d never use fluorescent colors with bonefish for example

If you’ve never seen lure fishing for bonefish check this video out. It’s one of my favorites and is an accurate depiction

Of it sounds like the dude is shooting heroin it’s because there’s very little difference outside the obvious
Enjoy

I typically do use a leader when using braid, usually flouro because I use hi vis braid, plus the flouro is so much more abrasion resistance than braid. But I usually only use 3’ or so for a leader, not enough to offer much stretch.
All my top water and cranking as as spinner and chatter baits are thrown on braid only. I may start trying to use a leader more this year, but I have full spools of fluoro for the finesse stuff

Cool video. Reminds me of 1997 when I caught a 26.5 inch 9 lb rainbow trout that just missed the state record. I was using only 4 lb test and I had to let it run all over creation while I tried to keep up so he wouldn’t spool me. Hanging in my wall atm

Fishing and all that "outdoor" shit....good god.

I hate that shit so much, that I get upset even talking about it.

Went yesterday for about 45 mins to try and get some smallies and try new lures.there was a guy in my spot so It was a bust. Water is still really cold and a barge came by the Ohio river and jacked up the water, so I left. I will get at them again soon. Tossed several colors of spinnerbaits, a chatter baits, a core tackle hover rigged worm and a swim jig.
