Lets talk fishing

Hey Sherbros!

I dragged my boat from SoCal to South East Texas to do some Alligator Gar Fishing using my own gear, electronics & cam systems. I caught quite a bit of River Monsters while there & a bonus Monster Black Drum. Im home editting the footage and should be dropping episodes shortly . . .

I queued your video on Youtube. I'll watch it soon.

I don't have cool catches like Jango, but I did grind out a few nice fish in the past month.

I live in Minnesota and we have so many lakes just about everyone fishes. We have a lake cabin so we are out fishing most of the summer. I don't ice fish anymore though.

I dislike ice fishing. I only did it once (my father was a warden and used me as a prop) and I found it boring. I like casting a lure.

What fish do you like to target?

The lake we fish on the most has Large Mouth Bass, Black Crappie, Walleyes and Northerns. Our lake also has huge Sunfish/Bluegills.

We can catch 3-4lb bass right off our dock most days. That's pretty good size for a bass in MN. I used to go fishing for Muskies but haven't done that in a while.

I love the way bass smell. It brings back memories of fishing a farm pond near Stanford University......god I loved that place.

I can almost smell those

Thanks for the pics bra

Im a transformed inshore saltwater fisherman now but Ill be damned if NDYakangler doesn't have the best smallmouth and muskie channel on YT
He's a kayak fisherman but almost only catches hogs. Its almost peculiar.

Those are beauties!

Some excellent fishing Sherbrethren. I did a fair bit in my younger days but only gone mackerel fishing a few times since moving to Nova Scotia. Ontario where I'm from had some incredible bass fishing.

Haven’t posted in a while. Was in my way to my son’s last football game and I was running ahead for the drive so I stopped to toss a spinner bait in the Ohio river. Caught six saugeye-nothing special but nailed a new pb small mouth bass. Keep in mind, they don’t get much bigger around here, and this was a toad. My previous record was 3 lb and was in a small creek. I was routinely catching 2.5 pounders which is extremely rare for people in this area. This year, I got a 2’11.

But this is my new pb at 3’02. I personally think it may have been a few ounces bigger but did not get to weigh it on my good scale and had to use the hook one and I am always scared I am going to hurt the fish so I don’t weigh a second time. Wish I would have though.

Here’s a five pound largemouth from greenfield park in Wilmington NC. Caught on a top water frog dragged along the scum. Lots of scum there and few open areas that provide access to the water. Gators are also an issue as they come charging after your frogs. Not many places to throw anything besides a frog without a kayak.

Last year, I had a fish break off (4.5 lbs) and it was flopping on the scum and a gator was coming in to eat it. I jumped in waist deep water and ran out and grabbed my fish. I posted that one last year.

And the 2’11 smallies from may caught on a bone Berkeley choppo. Caught three decent ones that day including some on a tube-which was hot for a few weeks then completely dried up as did the creek fishing in general.
