In the local news, they said people are using drones to take their lines way out far from shore and protesters complain because the lines then break and tangle turtles flippers.
Caught this water wolf a few years ago bank fishing. Heck of a fight.View attachment 923897
It wasn't terrible. I smoked it and ate it with crackers and cheese. Pike isn't bad. Smaller ones are better though.
And thanks! That was just a day where the bite was non-stop. Lucky day.
On Fort Peck lake on the Missouri in Montana.Where’d you catch that bad boy?
How do you cook/eat those guys and what do they taste similar to?
This kind of observation definitely helps understanding of lure fishing.I'm allergic to fish, so I'm a catch and release guy. Johnny darters only get about 2.5 inches, there wouldn't be much to eat.
I do more watching of how small fish, like darters and minnows, act in small fingers off a river than fishing tbh.
for future big catches always support the fish with two hands, never use their gill plate as I think theres literally like a 50% mortatilty rate when doing that. With Sturgeon, its even higher. If they are toothy a pair of plastic fish grips from rapala work best, those metal ones just fuck the mouths of the fish up and have very little surface area. Sometimes overhandling can break the jaw of a big fish and not allow it to feed after. Gotta keep the sportfish happy so they make more babies for ya to catch lolCaught this water wolf a few years ago bank fishing. Heck of a fight.View attachment 923897

Karen’s gonna Karen. I do the same, what a load of shit.In the local news, they said people are using drones to take their lines way out far from shore and protesters complain because the lines then break and tangle turtles flippers.
tbh theres almost nothing besides tuna trolling on the west coast that requires that heavy line and big game and big shark fishing on the east coastFluoro, braid, mono what’s everyone running?
I use braid for freshwater. 100lb braid with a top shot of 100lb mono for salt. I’ve never used fluorocarbon. Anyone use it?

It also is kind of wirey while being plastic if that also makes any sense. If I was youI'd be using 20% stronger floro as my leader, that is if you aren't already using wire for leader. Problem with floro is it burns itself as the knot cinches down so you ahve to lube it like palomar knot, but because of this a 100% strength knot like a palomor or some others will break at 70% of the lb test for that line, so you have to take that into account. But when used right sometimes it can make a huge difference, like 4lb mono vs 4lb floro, with trout, I noticed getting a lot mroe action when I was rocking floro for my leader but they are heavily depedent on sight in most enviorments. The guy your going for are like 50/50 i imagine lolAll the majority of fishing I do is shark fish lol. Tx coast for life. Ty on the flouro info though.
Yes, San DiegoNice to see our own out there fucking killing it in what looks like Texas and San Diego? Nice Gar and BFT

Bet it took ya at least a solid 10-30 minutes to get that thing in, on light tackle I can imagine the insanity lol
wtf dude
