Lets settle this GOAT talk once and for all

Edit: Double post

Male GOAT: Conor McGregor.
Female GOAT: Ronda Rousey.

You cannot be GOAT if you haven't been in the UFC, sold more than 1 million PPVs as a headliner, landed on the cover of SI and won at least one ESPY award, that is all.

Saying Fedor as the GOAT is laughable. Look at the GOATs in other sports: boxing GOAT Ali -> most famous athlete like, ever. B-ball GOAT Jordan - billion dollar blockbuster draw. Being the biggest blockbuster draw is a pre-req for GOAT status. Fedor has never competed in the premier org in MMA, nor was he remotely close to the biggest star in the sport. He's no GOAT.

Could Ali beat a modern day LHW champ? It is a different era of the sport under different rules.

Even if you go prime vs. prime I don't buy that a 240lb guy automatically beats a 225-230lb guy. If that were the case then Fedor would have lost his fights with bigger men.

Writing off LHW in these discussions is silly.

None of the goats lost during their "streaks" and losing a round doesn't really mean much in a fight. But when looking at who is the goat, rounds matter! Here's my list

#1
Fedor Emelienenko
Undefeated for 10 years with 31 wins and only lost one round! 24 finishes during that time 5 over former ufc champions plus the pride champion and the pride owgp winner. Also beat k1 champions elite grapplers and guys that were extremely bigger than him. Lost one round in his 7th fight, after that he won every round during that streak in dominant fashion. There was never an argument about whether he won or not. He dominated everyone his first 31 fights.

#2
GSP
25 wins 5 over former UFC champions. Has the most top 10 wins and won in dominating fashion majority of the time. Lost 2 rounds to Hendricks and arguably one to condit. Has many decision wins. Avenged all losses.

#3
Jon jones
Undefeated for 8 years with 22 wins over 5 former champions. 15 finishes and lots of dominant performances. Lost 1 round to machida and rashad, lost 2 rounds to DC and Gus. Still undefeated.

#4
Anderson Silva
Won 17 in a row over 4 former ufc champions and the pride champion. Had success moving up to Lhw even beat a former champ and looked flawless doing it. Took lots of chances to finish but often lost rounds because of it. Dominant champion with lots of finishes.

#5
Jose Aldo
25 wins over 4 former UFC/wec champions with one loss during that time. Lost one round to Florian, Edgar, and Mendes in their 2nd fight. Dominant champion with 16 finishes.

#6
Mighty Mouse
24 wins with 14 finishes. Dominant champion and only lost when he came up in weight. Had a debatable fight over Ian McCall but came back and beat him decisively.

UFC bought Pride and absorbed all Pride contracts.

If existing UFC + absorbed Pride contracts doesn't make UFC premier, then clearly Pride itself wasn't premier.

The premier org also doesn't get bought out by a less org. When A buys B, A > B, therefore Pride wasn't premier.

So Fedor never fought in a premier org to begin with.

PHALE X 10

Purchasing pride didnt make the UFC the premier org, dumbass. Absorbing the Global talent from Affliction and SF did.

Purchasing Pride only opened up a platform for the orgs I listed to develop into serious competitors.

Fedor was the Pride FC HW champion in 2003. UFC bought Pride in 2007 and only became the premier org in 2011 when they absorbed all of the talent, 8 years AFTER Fedor was champ of the original PREMIER ORG.

Never forget that you are my son.

First of all why are you so mad? Calm down. You already have a yellow card, you keep raging like this it's going to be bad news bears.

Secondly Pride contracts were absorbed by the UFC with the purchase. If that doesn't make UFC the premier org than Pride wasn't the premier org to begin with.

Thirdly Pride got bankrupt and bought by the UFC in a couple of years. Which other premier org goes from premier to bankrupt and bought in a couple of years? And which "premier org" was Fedor fighting in after Pride got bought? Noobsauce x 9000

Not mad brah, just chatting the breeze. :D

Pride going bankrupt in 2007 doesnt mean they werent the premier org and place to be when Fedor was on his run and no one wanted a piece of him.

Pride didnt go bankrupt because they failed to become the premier org years before that. They went Bankrupt because they had mob ties and lost their tv deal because of that.

Just like UFC wasnt this premier org before TUF saved them, they were 40 mill in debt and ready to close shop.

Yes after TUF the UFC developed a lot of steam and bought out Pride they became very powerful but they were still not the premier org. There was a lot of work to be done and there were still competitors with better HW divisions which Fedor fought in.

UFC became the premeir org 8 years after Fedor

HW GOAT: Fedor
LHW GOAT: Jones
MW GOAT: Silva
WW GOAT : GSP
LW GOAT: BJ Penn
FW GOAT: Aldo
BW GOAT: Dom
FLW GOAT: Mighty Mouse
WBW: Rousey

the only argument to be had is if the goat is jones or gsp
anderoid and fedor are not competing at all for that #1 spot to any rational mma fan

1)Silva: most UFC defenses in any division. Not only won, but finished many of his fights. Moved up in weight 3 times and destroyed tough opponents.
2)GSP: second most title defenses. A threat on the feet and ground.
3)Jones: many amazing wins. Submitted two BJJ black belts. Has kind of a lot of decision wins. Lost the belt.
4)Fedor: 6 successful consecutive heavyweight title defenses, most at heavyweight in any major org.
5)Penn: 3 lightweight title defenses, all contenders finished. 2 division champ.
6)Aldo: amazing run but Conor made him look amaturish. 7 successful UFC title defenses, 2 in the WEC.
7)Cruz: amazing movement. Seems unbeatable, but time will tell. 3 UFC title defenses, 2 WEC title defenses.
8)DJ: amazing fighter, now coasting along after having cleaned out the division.

No debate.

Currently it's GSP. Potentially Jones will surpass him, and likely will, because he's so young still.

According to source, ducked Reem twice. Been can crushing since 05. Has been almost ktfo by a can. Went on a 3 fight losing streak during ducking Reem. Got 1 punched by a mw

No losses avenged.

GSP is ahead bro

Here's the list of Fedor's title win and title defenses against "cans." He has the most consecutive title defenses in heavyweight history in any major organization (6). Opponents' rankings at the time are listed.

1)Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira: Ranked: #1. (Won the Pride heavyweight title).

2)Mark Hunt: Ranked #7. (3rd of 3 Pride title defenses).

3)Mirko CroCop: Ranked: #4. (2nd of 3 Pride title defenses).

4)Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira: ranked #2 (1st of 3 Pride title defenses).

5)Brett Rogers: Ranked #6.

6)Tim Sylvia: ranked #4.

7)Andrei Arlovski: ranked #2.

The most cans crushed by a fighter once upon a time considered to be great. Almost ktfo by a can recently. 1 punched by a mw. Ducked Reem twice according to source posted. 3fight losing streak during ducking.

seems like everyone has their own standards on what makes a fighter the greatest. Most say Fedor. Some say GSP and Silva. Others Bones.

I have always said you have to break it up between Pride and the UFC. Both had fighters who went on amazing streaks and fought the best at the time.
Fedor for Pride and Jones for UFC imo.
Prime for prime? Depends where they fight and the rules with a slight advantage going to Bones.

Fedor easily.
Even the fighters and Brazilians say so.
