Let's be honest, Merab has good cardio, that's it.

Very little striking?

Are you sure you watched the fight?

Lots of garbage front kicks and nothing punches in between ineffective TD attempts every 15 seconds.

Y'all Merab fans are easily impressed. You realize there are fighters out there with sick cardio and elite wrestling who can actually advance in position? Watching a Khabib fight will blow your mind.

Ok, you're hopeless.

Enjoy getting dunked on by people who understood what they were watching.

Merab exposed Yan in all facets on MMA in that fight

Yanablers like the OP and many others are just seeing what they want to see and instead of actually been honest with their boy, they are just lying to themselves hence the enabling towards Yan

Very embarassing at this point
Yeah Yan's style of waiting in mid range for something to counter doesn't work when the fighter is just trying to change levels and shoot for nothing but single legs all fight. Plus Yan kept stepping forward and made it even easier for Merab to time him and close the distance. Yan vs Merab is always going to end badly for Yan because of their style of fighting. Yan will need to evolve his game and change things up.

nullification is not offense though... He won on the scorecards purely on volume of TDs, a TD by itself is worth nothing without effective GnP or advance of position backing it up.

He's a cardio machine, I'll give him that. But he needs to land real offense.

But he was literally beating Yan on the feet? Obviously the threat of the takedown influences this, but why didn't Yan do more then? They both had their chances, and Merab simply looked better.

This guy is like Khabib without any offensive ability. He can spam a million takedown attempts and throw nothing strikes, but I didn't see much else tonight.

He won every round by a narrow margin, technically those takedowns are not supposed to count for anything on the score cards since Yan popped back up each time.

So kudos to his cardio ( is he on the McGregor FAST program?), can't say I'm impressed otherwise.
Sorry friend, but there are levels to this. It is truly unfortunate that Merab didn't impress you.

Uhh there's not much you can do but defend when your opponent spams TD attempts like that.

Look, you all are getting a little confused. I'm giving Merab credit for his cardio. Even DC has never seen anything like that. But despite such a deluge, Yan defended almost everything. Imagine if someone with actual skill had that cardio, it would be utter domination.

I am using my eyes. I saw a guy with endless cardio spamming ineffective TD attempts and nothing punches. I watched the other guy expertly defend most of that. Not much real offense was mounted.

If you think this guy is impressive, you must cum in your pants when you watch a Khabib fight. Cardio machine, vicious GnP, very good subs, nice jab, high pressure.

Whatever eases the pain. Literally lost everywhere soundly.

Leave the basement and go throat shove someone in protest.

I'm not salty, believe it or not. I just don't like false narratives. Wrestling is all well and good but if you merely use it to stifle your opponent, it's not something that will win you many fans. People like to see effective offense, not spamming takedowns.

Merab has only these skills and quality:

1. Near Olympic Level Judo competitor in Georgia (elite Judo country)

2. Life long wrestler

3. FIAS Sambo Worlds Silver Medalist

4. Strong chin to compliment his constant pressuring style of striking that synergizes with his grappling very well.

5. Some of the best cardio in all of MMA

6. 21 MMA fights worth of experience while training out of one of the best gyms in the game alongside the current BW Champion.

Eh, my post covers this . Endless cardio and TD attempts stops any striker. I give credit to Merab for this. And? What other offense did he mount?

"Endless cardio" is not a combat technique. Go away and come back when you're no longer a 10 year old dipshit.

Nice resume, maybe he should try to do something besides spam TD attempts, he just might actually succeed

That's the thing though. Every TD attempt was effective, for what Merab was trying to do in the bigger picture, whether Merab got him down or not. He had Yan preoccupied with reacting, defending, and even getting hit after TD attempts. He needed cardio to implement the game plan but he also needed speed and timing. Great performance. Calling anything garbage, is really ignorant.
