Lerone Murphy / Mosvar Evloev Title Shot.....why no outrage for Murphy??

Movsar arguably lost to Aljo. I get that it counts as a win (and absolutely wasn't a "robbery" or anything like that--just an incredibly close fight) but that can be taken into consideration too. He hasn't finished anyone yet in the UFC.

Do I think he's ahead of Murphy? Yes. Do I think TS pointing out that the gap probably isnt (or shouldn't be) that wide is reasonable? Also yes.

Sterling?? 1-0 at the time at FW beating a guy who was 0-2, Lopes in his UFC debut who had no ranking??? Really?

I don't see much difference in resume here. Murphy has been more active. Even if you wanna give Evloev a edge, it's very slight.

My point is more that they are close in performance, but yet one guy not getting a shot is a travesty and the other is not even mentioned.
3 top 10 wins vs 1 just saying.

And Lopes being his debut means what? He is good but nobody knew it so it doesn't count? It was Lopes UFC debut but his record was 21-5 so its not like he was a rookie.

Well it's not quite the same as beating a ranked opponent and it was on short notice and it was a close fight
He is Diego Lopes. He was Diego Lopes and in the future will be most likely Diego Lopes. Even if we give 1/2 points 2.5>1.

Movsar isn't the most exciting but he is more accomplished then Lerone. Murphy will get there assuming he keeps winning. That's what makes having already beat 3 top guys better than having beat non ranked guys plus one top 10 guy.

I hate that the UFC keeps erroding the meaning and value of their divisional titles.

I get it. You don't have to explain it to me but if I was going to list off Conors best wins I'd not name max. Just saying

I get what you are saying. Max was 7-2 going into the Conor fight. hard to be top 10 when you don't even have 10 fights. Not exactly the same. Max didn't get to the top 10 until what......The Cub Swanson fight??? 12 fights into his UFC tenure.

Lopes was proven to be top 10 within a year of the Movsar fight.

Lopes took the fight on 5 days notice, and FW is a HUGE weight cut for him. To think he was at 100% for that fight is absurd.

yeah whatever. take away Lopes and Movsar's resume is still ahead of Murphy. Don't get me wrong here. I like Murphy and would prefer to see him fight over Movsar so this isn't a fanboy thing.

I hate how the UFC is eroding the value and legitmacy of its titles.

I don't disagree but context does matter and it seems like everyone ignores the 5 day notice, which is unequivocally a factor in the way the fight played out.

I do think Murphy has more proven cardio and Id be interested to see Movsar in a 5-rounder. Maybe against the Pico/Murphy winner.

For me I don't ignore the short notice. It was also short notice for Movsar. Yes he did a full camp for a fight but he wasn't training for Lopes. Bryce Mitchell was the original opponent and he is vastly different then Lopes in style and skill.

Movsar got the win and Lopes' performance and short notice certainly didn't hold him up. He got all the credit in the world with his next 5 wins got him a title shot against Volk. I never heard anyone saying Lopes shouldn't get a title shot due to his loss to Movsar. Maybe Movsar should have been booked for it on Merit but its not like Lopes was considered the FW Khalil being gifted a shot he clearly didn't deserve.

Look at their last 4 fights.
Lerone beat Joshua Culibao???, Barboza, Ige & Emmet.

ovsar beat Sterling, Allen, Lopes & Ige.

So Ige cancels out. Sterling, Allen & Lopes are all top 10 ranked.
Barboza isn't top 10 and Culibao isn't. Emmet is top 10.

3>1 if you can't see the difference and feel their resume's are equal then I don't know what to tell you.

^This. Movsar clearly has several more top wins than Murphy. That should be obvious by taking one quick look at their recent records.
