Media Leon says he will NOT sign contract vs. Colby Covington

No, it was definitely good enough. I watch fights, not the results. Masvidal is literally a top contender, he's fighting Burns, another top contender, in a few weeks.

Colby is the most deserving, and odds will show that as he will probably open up as a favorite vs Leon,. Do you believe that Belal would open as a favorite against a fighter that already dominated him?
Dominated is a pretty stupid description for a single round that couldn't go without a foul. Good that you can watch fights, though most peoples eyes are usually connected to something else in their head that you should use more often. The fights can determine who is skilled or who's a favorite. The results determine booking and matchups though. Colby doesn't have em.

Do I think Colby should be the favorite over Leon. Yes (and he already did open up as the favorite, you should pay attention more). I also think Shavkat passes the eye test and has a MUCH better performance record than Colby, as long as we don't give a shit about results. Geoff Neal would be a good stylistic challenge for Leon. Fuck, I think Khaos Williams can knock Leon out. But we're not seriously entertaining the thought of "Can beat champ, so book the shot," are we? No. Because you reward winning, because what's the point of risking to fight if you don't.

Also, Mas isn't a top contender in anything more than name only. He wasn't the pick for his own title shot, which he performed terribly in, was a joke of a selection for his rematch which he got brutally knocked out it, and then got grapplefucked by Colby. He's not in the top 10 for a reason, and he's getting the Burns fight specifically cuz Burns asked for it to boost his own name. Masvidal is contending nothing without some wins.

Leon will sign it as he has zero clout with the company besides the belt that is around his waist. He is no Conor, Izzy, etc. You know the guys who actually bring in the big time ppv's and money and can leverage their options/opinions accordingly.

So many words only to agree with me. Colby is the most deserving based on merit and ranking position. That's why he is the favorite in the matchup.
Belal is lower in the rankings and would most definitely open up as the underdog.

Case closed, cry more.

While I understand Leons reasoning , I also dont like cherry pickers. Fight who is put in front of you . If you are the rightful champ, you will beat him and everyone will move on.

UFC trying to set Colby up as the next McGregor - polarising, brash talking, decent but not great fighter. They want those big PPV dollars.

Didn't agree, but hey, you're fucking dumb, so I get it. Colby doesn't deserve it on merit because he already cashed in his merits twice. He has no merit in 2023. He only has his ranking because he refuses to risk it. Being the favorite means shit when LOTS of people are the favorite against Leon. Belal has beaten higher ranked guys.

Drool more, ya braindead fuck

This has to be a joke coming from Leon Scott. He got his title shot after a 14 month layoff, beating fucking Nate Diaz before that, where he almost got finished himself at the end, a no contest, and a 2 year layoff before that.

Leon Scott had 1 win in over 3 years going into his title shot, against Nate Diaz. Colby kicking the shit out of Masvidal is a lot more than Leon did to get a title shot.

Leon was on a 10 fight win streak (if we incl. Belal who was getting dominated). Come on man...
Leon also got a title shot when Usman had ran through every one else and had no other challenger in sight.

Leon has plenty of other guys that are more deserving to be his next opponent than Colby.

Leon was being lined up for a title eliminator when the pandemic hit. Since he was out, he needed to prove he was active, so he took 3 different dates to fight Khamzat on, and the fight never happened cuz of Covid, so Leon fought Belal on a last minute fill in instead instead. Nothing happened out of that, so immediately agreed to fight Diaz, within less than a month. But Diaz got injured, so the fight had to be moved again. Then he beat Diaz and agreed to fight Masvidal, but Masvidal fell out with an injury.

I mean, he was already at the top, in title fight range, then got deranked, so he had to go and prove again that he can keep busy, but no one could actually show up to fight him. Bit of a difference between that and beating Masvidal, then taking your ball and going home.

Lol at "if we include a single 10-9 round and then poking someone eye's out to start the 2nd".

Leon Scott's win streak was 2019 and earlier and was Cowboy Cerrone and Vinny Barbarino. If you count Colby's wins from 2019 and earlier, he's done more than Leon, and if you don't count 2019 and earlier, Leon didn't do shit either.

He didn't. Leon had 14 months between beating Diaz and his title fight, and Colby just won 12 months ago against an opponent who was higher ranked than Diaz and beat him directly.

Leon should just admit he's scared and wants a more winnable fight. It's just pathetic to pretend it's about "deserving it" when he did even less for his own shot, and wants Masvidal instead.

Ariel made a terrific point...

Further exposing Dana's hypocrisy.

Stipe gets Dana WHITE privilege as well.

Stipe is commonly referred to as greatest heavyweight ever. He’s earned the privilege not because of skin color. Can’t believe all the grasping at straws. It’s entertainment, Stipe vs Jones is the fight that most want to see. Same with Leon vs Colby. Leon vs Belal should be a preliminary fight.

I’d watch it. I could give a shit who deserves it in the eyes of fans. I want good fights like Justin vs Fizz, or any Chandler fight. Cerrone certainly wasn’t the best, but always fun to watch.

He didn't what? I just said a lot of things. He did do all the things I just said.

If you're saying that Leon didn't prove he could stay busy, then I'm not sure why I wrote facts for you to ignore, because he agreed to 6 different fights in a 20 month period that his opponents regularly couldn't show up to. Leon was right at the cusp of a title shot. Colby's off the back end of his. Leon tried to fight, Colby isn't.

I mean if not Colby then who?
Leon always pulls this shit. He absolutely refused to fight Khamzat until they stripped him of rank then he agreed.
He's going to fight the best out there. And he's going to deal with it. This ain't boxing mother fucker.
