Legalized marijuana

I am not a huge supporter of legalizing MJ. I just feel like it's kind of something i'm indifferent about though. my life experiences tell me it's none of my business so I won't stand in the way of people who support it.

But, if I had to vote. I would vote yes-in support. Given the legal implications of getting caught illegally, I think it makes more sense to decriminalize it. I'm not sure if the benefits are unanimously better for everybody, but I think overall it is better to legalize it.

This is from the link I posted:
"Users will have to pay heavy sales taxes on the cannabis they purchase in Illinois. A 10% tax will be imposed on marijuana products containing less than 35% tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, the compound that gets users high, while products with higher doses of THC will carry a tax of up to 25% or more."

Is 35% THC a lot? I have no idea what % of THC the stuff that I would come across illegally in recent years contained but it was always pretty damn strong. It has been quite awhile since I've smoked.

Every state will tax differently but sounds like a pretty steep tax.

For us pretty much fir every 100 u spend u get taxed 10 bucks extra.

Yes 35% is a high amount for reference most street quality us around 8 -15%.

Though there are good street growers but once it goes legal they all start grieing fir the clubs. Then they have to invest in equipment for quality control which leads to higher potency.

Most club weeds range from 22%-28%

Concentrates can be far more potent

Oregon.

I live in a tiny ass town of 20k. There is already more dispensaries than fucking coffee shops. You just show your ID and pick whatever shit you want.

.....but you have to show your ID.

And remember it's still federally illegal

I've had a medical card for the past ten years due to PTSD so it's not that big of a change for me.
BUT, prices have now come down and access is crazy everywhere.
I go to the club in Berkeley.

Recreational weed sold at dispensaries is bullshit unless ur from ca. Waterd down shit.

Illegal pot will dramatically drop in price, but eventually become unnecessary. Quality will go up and you’ll have access to amazing things that were being kept from you. Edibles, where you know exactly what and how much you’re eating, discreet vape pens where you can smoke on the go. It’s glorious.
Checking in from Colorado
I just visited and loved it. I used to live in Woodland Park and the Springs from '97-'04 and will move back eventually.

Price and selection is superior to what you'll get from a dealer unless you're getting a friend hookup. Beware though, it's still federally illegal so jobs will fuck with you. I live in a recreational state and everywhere is starting to do random drug testing now.

if you maintained a RX for medical reasons, you don't pay the tax

i realize most people stopped obtaining one when it was legalized, but that's an option....just saying

uh or so I've heard

This is false. I've had a medical card for over a decade now and I still get taxed. It's a lesser tax than recreational, though.

yeah, they tax the shit out of it!

Yep, it's pretty crazy. Great selection and quality but prices have gone up... unless you go places operating illegally.

Not true tbh. I've smoked across the country for 15 years. Dispensary grade stuff has a uniform level of quality you will never see from most dealers. You also don't have the hassles of associating with drug dealers and the pricing is better even after the high taxes.

Very accurate. My local shop averages from around 18 to 28 percent. The worst stuff I get there matches the best stuff I ever got in Washington state from street guys. And Washington has above average quality weed.

Shit is so cash
I go to neta in Northampton,
15 per gram
Edibles are high quality
Tax is insane tho but il gladly pay for superior quality and piece of kind knowing it's not laced with bullshit, other than the govt additives I suspect they are using.

35% for flower is really high, but concentrates not much

Yeah 35 percent is nutso levels. I would describe myself as a heavy user most of the time and I want no part of that

Time to dedicate a closet, an 600watt lamp and a plant.

Nothing is more over priced than legal weed

In the several states I've lived in, after taxes it was still better pricing, consistency, and quality. Colorado in particular had excellent deals. Lots of competition.

I can attest to this. Here in WA, I have not come across any pot, even the high end stuff from the biggest farms comes close to the shit I grew on the extralegal market, so to speak. I see cookies strains, for example, that aren't cookies upon even a cursory examination, stuff that was clearly cut down for curing like 5 days late, stuff that wasn't trimmed properly, and stuff that just wasn't grown well generally.

People still speak of thc percentages as if that was the metric as well. Laughable shit in my view.

Legal in Chicago (illinois) Jan. 1 2020.

What's the point now just fucking federalize it already an let the stores use banks. Enough.
