Economy Large hospitals doing massive lay-offs, cutting positions, and even going out of business.

"Finally?" Or, "just in time?" Who is the expert on when the best time to shut down our economy for this really was? What would the consequences have been for shutting down our economy 3 weeks earlier? Would it have caused more damage or less damage?
Usually we quite Fauci but he said trump did what he said to so it turns out Fauci is altright now and hates minorities so our expert is whomever says what they agree with during their post

It says the majority they are laying off is administrative staff. Not doctors and nurses.
The 9-5’ers are a dime a dozen. Doctors and nurses not so much. We work long shifts and sometimes work 80 hour weeks.

Did CNN tell you that? Some of these people die without a ventilator. Hooking them up to a CPAP can spread the virus into the air on the exhale, and it absolutely does not help them if they can no longer breath on their own.

Yes, I think it may have been CNN.

There are individuals working at CNN (and other similar media outlets) who are intentionally perpetuating false information, to maximize the damage of the virus, because it gives them political leverage. Plus, they know they will be financially just fine and not subject to the economic pain many working class Americans are feeling right now. Unemployment is about to go through the roof, and that is not CNN's problem.

One thing is for certain. We would sill be getting damaged by this virus either way, and the media would still be blaming Trump and frightening people to maximize damage.
Locking down sooner would have resulted in far less cases and resulted in opening up sooner. Denmark closed down earlier and now they are opening up sooner.

You can't really calculate that. You don't know that. It lingered on a cruise ship for 17 days with no people on it. We don't know how much longer it can linger and what conditions make that possible. It could be, that after all of our "mitigation," it spreads again when we open up again. It could end up being that most people will have to get this in the end to achieve "herd immunity," and the only real cure in the end is a vaccine. It could end up that the shut down is causing more harm than good. We won't know until we have opened the economy up again for several weeks or months.

Even Fauci said we would have been better off shutting down sooner. Denmark and Israel both shut down sooner - incidentally Israel was warned by US intel in Mid November that the virus was serious - and both these countries have had very low infection and death rates and are now starting to open up. Yes they are not good comparison candidates because of how small they are compared to us, but its all we got to go on for now.

People on the liberal side were imploring Trump to take this seriously in Feb and enacting stricter gov. action. When Fox news pundits were telling people to go out there and enjoy, they were criticised as being irresponsible.

I respect Fauci, but the models Fauci was using have also been way off, so the things he says aren't always said with pinpoint accuracy. There is a lot of data we don't have. Some of the data we use is conjecture (even though there are lots of "experts" in the media who will claim to know unknowable things with absolute certainty).

Goddamn it
Fauci said on national television that when he asked the president to shut down he did
So trump should have shut down before Fauci told him to now?
So is Fauci right or not?
for fuck sake
