Evidently the Los Angeles Clippers just sold for 2 billion bucks.

Steve Ballmer, former Microsoft exec, and Donald T Sterling's Family Trust have signed an agreement to sell the L.A. Clippers for $2B.... the contract is awaiting NBA approval.

Discuss.

if he had never made those statements there is no way the team would have even come close to being sold for this much. this falls in the category of all publicity is good publicity

Apple should outbid him

That's the theory.
But, who knows.

This, from Forbes.com (quoting the Wall Street Journal)

WSJ: So you wouldn’t move the Clippers to Seattle?

Ballmer: If I get interested in the Clippers, it would be for Los Angeles. I don’t work anymore, so I have more geographic flexibility than I did a year, year-and-a half ago. Moving them anywhere else would be value destructive.
