Kurt Pellegrino vs. Nate Diaz tonight....

I see Kurt being a more dominant fighter but anything can happen. I'm calling gogo halfway thru 2nd round from diaz. :)

oh man I almost forgot these fights were tonight. Damn school/work/commitments/life!

Thanks, and I am pulling for Nate. I love watching that kid fight and I cant see myself rooting against him.

Pulling for Nate, but I think Kurt might win... I can see him squeaking out a decision via being slightly better at just about everything.

Why is everyone giving Nate the credit for Nicks accomplishments?? YES, Nick has the ability to pull out victories vs better opponents. YES, Nick has showed great heart. YES, Nick is clearly a cleaver fighter. BUT Nate hasnt showed any of these traits yet! Nate DOES fight like Nick (STYLISTICALLY) but that doesnt mean he should be credited for having the same type of game.

Nate needs to prove himself thru his OWN accomplishments!!! Tonight will be a huge test for him....and IMO he is going to fail his first REAL UFC expereience! Pellegrino could possibly fight for the belt....Nate is nowhere near that level!!

And I agree with "arm triangle" that Nate did not run thru the TUF 5 cast....and he was going to get ass handed to him in the Finale before Manny got hurt...however he HAS grown a lot as a fighter in the last year. He hit MMA puberty =)

Actually, I was not meaning to give Nate credit, for what Nick has done. I grouped them together, because, like you said, they fight in a very similar manor. Nick has fought much better fighters than Nate has even thought about fighting. However, since he has been on TUF, it has been popular on here to put Nate down and pick against him every fight. He keeps finding ways to win(almost like his bro). People kept talking about how Nate was going to get killed in his last fight, but he didn't. All I'm saying is that Nate seems to mesh all of skills together better than other fighters do, even though those individual skills may not be as good as other fighters'.

This should be a good fight. It's definitely Nathan's biggest test so far other than Franca. I hope he can stay on the outside and tag Batman a few times before going to the ground. Although Nathan just got his brown belt, he has a good "MMA" submission game. He mixes punches and submission attempts well.

whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat

what a win!!!!! WOW

i was thinking the fight was going to be stopped with all those punches, i thought nate was out for sure but i couldnt see

someone make a gif of nate showin his middle fingers and flexin before subbing kurt, in the very end kurt looked like he was almost out of the triangle, and i was thinking DAMN YOU NATE FOR SHOWING OFF AND NOT FINISHING HIM!...but then he tapped...wow that was awesome

Lol, thanks for the spoiler. Not your fault, I should have stayed away...far far away.

how is it a spoiler? this event is live and i wrote it after...well sorry anyway lol

well i guess there is not much gap between the brown and black in mma; cus diaz def was incredible, he did just enough to not be pounded out or finished. An then he pulls the triangle out his ass and finishes kurt seconds later; very impressive, diaz is a top ten contender right now.

diaz is the only guy coming out of tuf as a rookie who is makin his mark by crushing top fighters

holy crap...diaz got roughed up that first round...what a finish!

who're they gonna match him up with next? it's interesting how so far nick's been given grapplers...

Awesome ground fight. I really think Kurt underestimated Nate's abilities, but damn, what a great show of jiujitsu!

I also loved the fact that Nate extended an invitation to anyone that wants to train; this will definitely motivate a lot of people.

i dont think he "ran through" the cast. He fought a close fight with a c level rob emerson, was taking a beating until he submitted cory hill or was it maynard- or both, either way potato potahto), a guy who apparently had never seen a submission 4 weeks prior, and was on his way to losing to gamburyan before he was injured ( he had clearly lost the first round). My instinct is he was teh 3rd best fighter on that show, Manny being 1, Lauzon 2, and Diaz 3.

diaz has looked good in his last 2 showings. but i think he is about to step up in comp, and lose. pelligrino gets the benefit of deciding where to fight. diaz will have to beat him everywhere to win. pelligrino just has to find something he can beat diaz at.

he ran through them, if it would have been easy i would have said he WALKED through them; but he ran through them and finished them all, that let me know he wasn't a joke and tonight cemented that

lol @ people bitching about "spoilers" on live events. It's not like this is being broadcasted from Japan or something.

Anyway, congrats to Nate. Awesome comeback.
