We were discussing alimony at work today and my co-worker said he caught his wife cheating on him, they had a divorce and now he's paying child support AND alimony to his ex-wife. Not to mention, he had to sell his house among other shit so she could get her money even though she had a shit job and wasn't going anywhere without him.

Know anyone paying alimony?

Brendan Fraser is paying $50,000 per month to his ex in alimony. He tried to get the judge to reduce it, but it's a no go. He's paying her $50k for life even though he hasn't done shit in Hollywood for a long time.

Alimony is the biggest bullshit scam on earth. Women want to be equal yet they still are granted this shit.

I don't care if you stayed home to raise the kids for 15 years. You aagreed to do it knowing the risks. Nobody owes you shit.

Child support is legit though, but even then I wish there was a way to ensure the mom doesn't just spend it on herself.

alimony is a total affront to equality under the law. When are feminists going to start carrying the anti-alimony torch?

My uncle's partner had to pay alimomy to his ex-wife for yrs and she took half his petition too. He always talks about it his pension. He should be retired but now has to keep working cause of what she got in the divorce.

Nasty divorces, child support, child custody, alimony, and lawyers are all the biggest reasons why I haven't been and probably never getting married.

Sad thing is, I'd really like to get married and have kids.

But the most miserable people I know are divorced, left with practically nothing, and their professional careers suffered because of mental illness due to mariage problems. Getting married practically ruined their lives.

I knew a Sergeant in the Army back when I was in, and a year before he was set to retire his wife of a few years filled for divorce. Between child support and alimony, his entire retirement check was going to her, and then some. That's just one example.

100% of people who were divorced got Married. I think I'll pass on ever getting married. Way too many horror stories about getting your life screwed over.

I know a guy that paid alimony for 2 years. He made his wife quit her job when they got married. He wanted her pregnant and butt naked in the kitchen. So she obliged. He cheated on her multiple times with average Janes and escorts. He probably got off easy.

Florida is a no alimony state isnt it? I'd move there. The courts tend to favor women even when they aren't the victim which really sucks

Damn near everyone i work with over 40 is divorced and some were ruined by it. Simple answer...don't get married to a woman who doesn't make as much as u or more.

That's rough. He should should file a pension. I'm sure he'd get a lot of signatures.

A friend of mine's wife cheated on him. But she got the kids, and he was stuck paying her like $1500 (or maybe $1800) per month for alimony and child support. In the end though, I think he ended up getting the kids eventually.

I worked with another guy that complained because he had the same kind of deal (2 kids and an ex-wife). As I recall, she was seeing some dude that was pretty well-off, but it didn't matter. However, I think if she re-married then he might have been off the hook for the alimony.

I know a dude who left his wife with 5 kids (15 and younger) because he felt like it.. he's supposed to be paying $3,500.00 a month in alimony but isn't. The mother of his kids says, "why am I not surprised.. he never lived up to his marriage agreement, why did I think he'd live up to his court ordered divorce agreement".

Buddy's wife took off on him back to the east coast. She expects him to pay her mortgage.

Really fear marriage for that fact. I think it's bullshit your wife could leave you and get an allowance each month from your paycheck. I know a few people who do and you can see it fucks with their life. Seriously would consider asking for a prenup before getting married and I'm not even rich.

As a member of the previously married gang I am a fervent opponent to marriage. The courts pimp hand is strong and wants your money. You marry and you become the states whore if divorcing.
