Nigerian is on borrowed time. Khamzats grappling is too good. Izzy would get ragdolled from pillar to post.

That's fair. Not trying to be a dick. Just saying, the guy is obviously legit. To me the term "hype" has a negative connotation. That's just me.
"There is a lot of hype about the new night club so I am going to check it out." Where is the negativity there? 'Hype' has no negativity attached to it at all. Only in Sherdogerland.

@SokoudjouFanboy someone talking thrash about the GOAT !

Izzy lost to Jan who just got smashed on the ground and rocked on the feet by 60 year-old grandpa Glover. Of course GOATmaev smashes him.

Tough to say if he can smesh. Jan probably had 20+ pounds on Izzy in the cage and Izzy did shut down vettori’s grappling efforts. I’m looking forward to finding out sometime in the next 18 months that’s for sure

I’m applauding you Sir, this is a very accurate observation of both men’s abilities,
or in Adesanya’s case lack of...

<{you!}>

Dagestani lion vs the Chechen wolf potential super fight. Who wins?
Khamzat. Easy. You think Khabib beats Aliskerov, the two time Combat Sambo world champion who is a middleweight? If Khamzat smoked Aliskerov, he smokes Khabib. He is good where Khabib is good but has KO power, better wrestling and a more explosive athlete. Khabib's Dagestani version of Combat Sambo is kinda like what the Gracie BJJ was to MM/A back in the 90's: it is not that Royce and his family were super athletes they just had a skill that matched up well that others did not know at that time. Khabib and Islam are just regular athletes but have been training a blend of striking, wrestling, judo, BJJ and chain wrestling for years. Their MMA fights are way than their Combat Sambo fights.

Who has he beaten again?
Beat this guy, Khabib of middleweight, with ease. Aliskerov is not jut a combat Sambo world champion, he is a two time Combat Sambo world champion and at two weight classes (181 and 197 pounds).

He also beat this guy, another guy that would beat almost everyone at MW in the UFC, again with ease. Their combined records would be 18-0 if it were not for Khamzat.

The evidence is already there the guy is cream of the crop, and he will only get better as he just picked up MMA after Conor KO'd Aldo and is already KO'ing guys in one punch and dropping HW Gus in sparring (something that Glover could not even do).

Robert Whittaker is a failed welterweight. Guess he'd never be good enough to win MW gold then eh? I'm talking exclusively about his time at WW where he's only lost to 1 man who is named Kumaru Usman and has an overall record of 12-1 when he is fighting at 170 lbs. Yes Khamzat's performances by comparison not comparing outside factors are more dominant. But he's also not fighting top 10 fighters yet. If he does the same thing to opponents who burns has fought or of similar level then sure we can talk. But until he does, all i'm doing is comparing their approaches and ability to get W's with similar approaches. Wonderboy is known to make wrestlers struggle to look great against him, even at his age. Stop being so emotionally invested.

Wonderboy knocked out Whittaker and sent him to Middle Weight division. Khamzat is so fast with his takedowns I think he gets Wonderboy down easy now. Now if it was 10 years ago Wonderboy, Khamzat would probably get Knocked out because Wonderboy was the fastest human we'd seen of that size back then. Right now I think Khamzat is the fastest large man in the UFC.

Interestingly, this was what started the hype around Glover Teixeira long before he'd gotten into the UFC (at least on Sherdog). I remember folks were all excited about Sokoudjou after he'd KO'd 2 of top LHWs back to back, and at the time Teixeira was Sokoudjou's only loss (1st round KO). MMAth inferred that Glover Teixeira must be great. Does anybody else remember that?
Sixteen years later, I wonder if ol' Glover ever made something of himself.... probably retired by now
We never got to see Glover in his prime when he was young, fast, and knocking out everyone in his path. The Glover we got was older but he was still a KO machine with incredible grappling skills. Jones eye poked his way to victory past Glover. Maybe if Jones hadn't been allowed to cheat so heavy we could have seen Glover win this thing a long long time ago.
