He’s underrated if anything.

This guy can legitimately win three belts in his next three fights!

Usman- lol snoozeman would get grappled like a child
Izzy- will get grappled like a bigger child
Glover- will get grappled like an old man at a nursing home

Not yet, but he will be after he does what he does to other top 10 Welterweights aswell.

You should actually rewatch the Bonner fight instead of remembering the highlights of the spinning elbow and suplex. Bonner won the 3rd round and was outboxing Jon lol who's boxing has always been shite

Should also keep in mind that Jones had trained mma for less than a year when fighting Bonnar who was a 12-4 veteran......that's crazy when you think about it

Im not saying he's just hype by now cause jingliang is really good so he's defenetly legit, still we don't know what is the guy ceiling.
But is he the most hyped fighter ever? Or there was a guy with more attention than him? Was hueston alexander hype for real back in the day and what we've seeing with chimaev is nothing new?
On Sherdog, I’ve never seen such hype and fandom as there was with Mike Perry. There was an entire group that went by “Platinum Nation” and said he would be a two division champ.
Overall, Ronda Rousey was hyped to another planet. They were saying she could beat Floyd in boxing. We may never see that level of hype job again.

Khamzat nut huggers are worse than Conor nut huggers man. God damn it, he has not beat a top10 fighter and is already GOAT material. Nothing against him, but his fanbase is so annoying that I hope he is smashed next fight.

Answering your question, Walker had a way more exciting style, was knocking unraked guys out, then flopped after got top 10 competition

One of the biggest, Sokoudjou is prob the biggest after KO'ing Ricardo Arona & Lil Nog
Interestingly, this was what started the hype around Glover Teixeira long before he'd gotten into the UFC (at least on Sherdog). I remember folks were all excited about Sokoudjou after he'd KO'd 2 of top LHWs back to back, and at the time Teixeira was Sokoudjou's only loss (1st round KO). MMAth inferred that Glover Teixeira must be great. Does anybody else remember that?
Sixteen years later, I wonder if ol' Glover ever made something of himself.... probably retired by now

what about Walker? He was knocking people out and making it look easy, then folded when faced ranked guys lol

He looks good so far, and he certainly thinks he is great already. I bet we will see how great he is in the next year!

Ever heard of Conor McGregor?

That one actually started as a joke though. Then a bunch of people started buying into maybe no realizing it was a joke

Yeah true, I remember seeing this photo of him with Chuck & John Hackleman. Was stoked

Being this dominant is also a form of creativity. If you've absorbed just 2 strikes in 4 fights then you're doing something unique that nobody else ever has.

I agree. Jon Jones is tough to beat regarding his "creativity," and he was also pretty darn dominant.

However, Jones was nowhere near this lethal. To be able to hold a ranked fighter up like a baby, have a conversation, and casually submit him has not been seen before.

One punch knockout power, also to ranked fighters, repeatedly also has never been seen before.

Jones had nowhere near this kind of power or domination.

I'm even a bigger Khabib fan that I am a Jones fan, but Khabib had to work his ass off to get victories. His energy expenditure to get the job done was unbelievable.

Meanwhile, Khamzat just walks out there, jokes around, finishes people, without breaking a sweat.

Never before seen in MMA, imo.

LOL. Oh how quickly people forget. SOOOO many fighters have been more hyped than Khazmat.

Yeah, Walker is a great mention.
He had 4 better wins than Chimaev - until he was murdered by Corey.

Khamzat is 4-0 in UFC, his first two opponents scrubs, 3rd iffy, but not just beating but another dominant performance on Leech who does have a number next to his name means even if the hype is out of control, Khamzat can't be ignored on strength of schedule anymore.

So many of the top 10 welterweights, I think just fold under that wrestling pressure. So what's the point of matching them up with a style mismatch? Gotta stop inflating a prospect at some point and give him a proper test to see if he can handle a champ, and this would also improve him for a title shot if that day ever comes.

Khamzat needs to fight Michael Chiesa next. Would be a beautiful grappling fight. And we'll get to see if A) Khamzat can out wrestle another very good wrestler or B) if he can change up the game plan against a wrestler and use his striking if needed.

It's the best fight to make there. Chiesa is ranked number 6 coming off a loss. So it's the next step for sure plus a few and far between style fight for us fans to witness.
