All the people saying Khamzat was all hype train are crickets. Honestly I dgaf about rankings and Usman vs Khamzat is far more interesting than anyone above him in ranking. Think Khamzat is ready now.

- He clearly isn’t a hype train. He’s proven beyond any doubt he is a top 10 guy, at absolute worst.

- He’s never gone into deep waters so we don’t know how he responds to exhaustion and whether or not he can push through it.

I do think this is a case where the few people not on the train will feel dumb in a year or two. You are seeing a clearly special talent, believe your eyes.

In regards to the bolded part.

Khamzat is a wrestler and is young. Wrestling is a young mans game. Nobody pushes trough exhaustion better than wrestlers. He got bronze in the Russian Junior Nationals. If you know anyhting about wrestling, medaling in the Russian Nationals is just as hard if not harder than the Olympics/World Championships. That's why you always see some new random Russian every Olympic event and World Championships. The same goes for Iran. There is always some new Iranian guy competing in these events.

Long covid layoff just tells me you make the usman vs khamzat fight right now before someone gets injured or retires. Fucking pounce.

I think Khamzat is the best prospect in the UFC right now, at least top 3. What he's done in 4 fights are remarkable but I still wonder.

What happens when he faces a great striker with good grappling defense? What happens when he faces a great grappler with good striking?

The reality is Khamzats 3 first fights was against bums much smaller than him or a journeyman who was knocked out in seconds. His only real test so far didn't even throw a punch, so, there are questions about what you said TS.

I highly doubt he'll put Usman or Edwards on their asses seconds in to the fight and nothing Khamzat has shown so far has indicated that he is a better striker than any of them.

He probably dominates Wonderboy, Muhammad, Chiesa and Masvidal though.

He's a strong dude. One more fight against the winner of burns\wonderboy then a title shot.

He will smesh all these guys then you will pretend you knew all along. Usman will be taking a trip in the distant future to the shadow realm, assuming he beats Colby in the rematch.

My main impression about the guy: he has a killer mindset. Perhaps we can still debate his skills (until they give him a top 5 guy), but it's pretty clear by now, he believes he's untouchable, doesn't feel any pressure and goes in there to hurt you from the very first second. A born fighter. I'll be free to post a prediction here - he finishes Usman within the very first round.

I hope he fights a top ten guy on the same card as Marty/Colby II. Naturally, he wins and that sets up the TS.

Imagine the look on his face when he realizes he can’t take Marty down and starts getting cracked with that Nigerian power. Ya know, that same power that broke Colby’s MAGA jaw and KO’d Mas stiff. I don’t even like Marty, but he’s just too good right now and his striking is still getting better. Khamzat has a better shot at beating Izzy.

damn sure lucky fists of fury Askren retired believe that

The guy was severely impaired for a while from covid. There is probably lung parenchyma scarring that noone except his diagnosing team knows the extent of. Just because he looked good for the first 3 minutes doesn't tell us much how he'd fare in a 25 minute back and forth physically taxing fight.

I hope he is back to normal, but I'd imagine he will always be slightly impaired in his conditioning. He does not have the most technical standup but he has insane power as we have seen from his GnP and him starching Aliskerov, who is a serious prospect as well and was undefeated and a multiple time 90kg Sambo champion, and Meerschaert on the feet. And now he has run through the Leech as well. I was saying he's the only threat to Usman for a while but both Usman and Colby would be significantly taxing fights for him atm, and am less confident in him in those types of fights now than before just because of the extent of symptoms he was showing.

We'll see. If I'm wrong you're can call me out on if and I'll gladly fess up.

Have a nice day.

My brother, Khamzat is sending Usman to the shadow realm in 2022. You don't have to accept it yet but when the time comes and he obliterates Marty, you will have no choice.

Obviously extremely promising but still a lot of question marks. He could be a frontrunner who folds if he doesnt steamroll his opponents. How is his chin? Is his uber-recklessness gonna cost him?

Dana said he wins this, title shot, and the way he won confirms it.

For fighters that like wars in sparring session, it sometimes reveal what will happen in the octagon. Take a lot of damage in training session will make your chin susceptibly weaker, it's just common sense.. but a lot of famous fighters we know, lack that aspect of human nature.

Most of us who are not on the train are the ones who like to see a standard process where fighters proceed through a system of elevating their level to the next higher one. It has nothing to do with whether we believe someone might have high level talent or not. I am enjoying watching Khamzat fight just like people on the hype train, but I would rather see the story build rather than creating a garbage system where bigger mouths will probably get bigger fights. He should proceed through the same process as other fighters. This is better on the financials for the UFC and it is more fair to fighters as a whole.

Everything is not about being belt holder. Everything is about watching great fights.
