Yeah a lot of could have been, but still, it didn't happen, and if they would have had a freestyle wrestling match in 2015 when they fought, DC would have beaten him easily even if he was at least 7 years removed from his wrestling prime, especially under freestyle rules or greco rules. My point is that wrestling credentials per say don't mean that much in MMA, it's how you implement it that counts. We have seen plenty of pretty high level wrestlers get outwrestled in MMA

Absolutely right. I’d just offer that Bo is very recently removed from wrestling competition on the world stage so conventional wisdom would suggest that his chops are a bit fresher than DC’s were in 2015.

I honestly think Burns was closer to getting finished in rd3. There was a brief moment in the last round where Burns was wilting up against the cage and Chimaev was pouring it on very Diaz-esque but didn't have good enough shot selection to seal the deal.
