Media Khamzat has no aura left.... Kamaru: You build him up, then you go in there and you go 'that guy wasn't special'

I think he still has an aura, and theres still a lot of interest in watching him fight.

When people consider you a hype job because you were competitive with Usman and Burns instead of demolishing them, you're being held to a pretty high standard.

And gsp out wrestled many great wrestlers with no real wrestling experience
Koscheck and who else? He beat fitch up standing and I wouldn’t say that he outwrestled Hendricks. In fact, Hendricks gave him real fits out there and in most people’s eyes, won that fight. But yes GSP is the shining example of an MMA guy outdoing wrestling specialists.

I just explained what they are talking about. They aren't literally saying that they glow or something. This has been a common phrase in sports and combat sports for at least 50 years.
It's still retarded though

I've never seen someone take so much criticism prior to ever having lost, been the clear winner in all fights, and having finished a large majority of their opponents. If Khamzat sucks so much, then maybe someone should just go ahead and beat him already.

Hard to say anything when a guy breaks his hand in the middle of the fight. I know people will say 'well so and so broke their arm and still looked good' etc, but I don't think its fair to compare like that. Same injuries can feel different and have a different effect at any given moment. Fighters fighting through that stuff is the exception, not the norm. I feel like people are seriously underestimating these kinds of injuries and how they can completely affect the outcome of a fight. A broken hand for a grappler is huge.

Usman can say what he wants, but that first round was absolutely unlike anything he's ever seen, he was ragdolled and completely defenseless for 5 minutes. He did look confident in the next 2 rounds, but again, Khamzat says he broke his hand, so who knows what would have happened and if Usman would still be as confident
Did Khamzat break his hand in the Burns fight? He performed the exact same way.

Matt Hughes in the second and third fights, but you are right, apart from him and koscheck, not really a lot of high level wrestlers on his resume. He was able to take Hendricks down a couple of times but never really able to hold him down, also got taken down and held down himself if I recall correctly. Hendricks in his prime though was something special, amazing wrestling, strong as an ox, missile left hand and on all the sauce hahaha

Sort of crazy how people are talking about Khamzat when he'd be the favorite over pretty much any champion at MW (Strickland, DDP, Izzy). Usually when guys beat former long reigning champions who just lost their title at their own game they get rated highly. Maybe Khamzat isn't perfect, but he was also training for Costa and showed up the day they were supposed to fight. Remember when Usman took on Masvidal last minute and looked awful, then rematched him and finished him sooner? There are reasons Khamzat didn't look amazing too.

Yea, Matt Hughes is a good one. Granted, I’m not sure how truly accomplished he was on the wrestling mat, no pun intended. I remember when Koscheck joined the UFC, Hughes himself acknowledged the difference in the influx of wrestling talent. To me, Hughes was more impressive as a complete grappler and he’s from that old generation that cut their teeth on the vaguely sanctioned circuits where being a psycho was a prerequisite to MMA success.

I'm in awe at the amount of copium in Khamzat haters in 2024. Dude is still undefeated and people just can't cope! Same thing with O'Malley circa 2021.

Trigg, Sherk and Hughes. And he did wrestle with fitch and won with ease.

I will say, I think it was the element of surprise. That’s why I think he decided to jab kos to death second time because he was going to be prepared

Trigg is a good one. I think he was a D-1 guy, right?

So fighters that aren't special can beat Kamaru Usman?

That's probably not the argument you want to be making, but you do you, Marty.

You'd get a smaller list of who outwrestled him. I'll list all of them below for you.....

Guy had broken wrist and he still could not beat him because he was afraid after what he endured in 1st round if that is not aura i do not know what is

I’m not even talking about that, I constantly see fans say certain fighters have aura or that they lost their aura or some shit. I think it’s just the new dumb lingo the kids are using these days.
I think you're a little young, as boxers in the 70's had their own auras and that's a word used to describe great people in language since the fuckin ancient Greeks.

I don't know what Usman is smoking. But Khamzat controlled you and ragdolled you for the whole first round. That's never happened before in his whole career. You can even add all the times Usman has been controlled or ragdolled in his whole fight career and it still will not equal to that first round domination by Khamzat. Khamzat simply gassed out after that, I believe with better cardio or be able pace himself better he'll be quite an animal to deal with.

Khamzat had a full training camp, Usman had 10 days notice that's the most optimal conditions for Khamzat to have better cardio than Usman and his cardio was worse.

It's so lame to use an injury that was caused by his opponent as an excuse for not performing as well as expected.
