Idk what Chimaev is on. He isn't focusing on DDP. DDP will be the toughest match he will have. I don't think he's winning vs DDP. I think Dricus beats him and it may not even go the distance... Dricus' won't be imo smothered in the first round, he's well prepared for that. He's totally prepared for the first round smothering and he's a tough mf... Whittaker said that when he took Dricus down, Dricus held his body in a body lock in such a strong way that he couldn't keep him down. And DDP isn't the kind of one that's going to tap, he's a tough son of a b***. He said he is ready to kill someone in front of their family as well as ready to die to take a win. That's one nasty competitor. So is Chimaev ofc. But Dricus has a weight advantage, has more proven stamina, knows the predictable pattern of the takedown and is preparing for that...
Anyways, I think DDP wins. Vs Ankalaev or Pereira, Chimaev would be destroyed at LHW. Pereira had called his bluff already to fight on LHW once and Chimaev turned down. I think DDP is already too much for him, so elite LHWs like Ankalaev and Pereira would be definitely too much for him. Firstly, Ankalaev couldn't take Pereira down even once, and Ankalaev is naturally a ~230 lbs fighter who trains sambo in Dagestan. He's a very good wrestler. Not as the avalanche that Chimaev is, but Ankalaev is also trying to take down way bigger fighters, which is tougher. Plus, Ankalaev has one of the best striking in MMA... So he's not so reliant on putting out 60% of his energy in a takedown initially like Chimaev. Whoever says Chimaev would beat Alex Pereira at LHW is kinda crazy honestly... DDP, I see as more likely but still... I don't think anyone is beating Alex and Ankaalev as of now... Anyone in the roster, I mean.
