For a supposed purple belt you seem to be struggling with the concept of preemptively tapping. A supposed purple belt should be able to understand that you could easily tap as soon as the grip is established so that they won't crank it. (btw 11 years and only purple? You either didn't train for most of that time or you're deliberately leaving out details in your story)
I can tell when I cannot defend a submission or if it isn't worth the fight and tap preemptively so that I don't get hurt. Anyone above white belt can do that. I can't do that for an oblique kick. If you can't grasp that difference you need to start back at white belt for a hot minute friend.
