Contrary to popular believe Khabibs best chance is to stand and bang. Khabib doesn't want to go to the ground with Conor as Conor has has elite ground game trashtalk as he proved with mini mendes where he completely broke him mentally.

If Khabib is dominating with wrestling for 3 rounds then starts to gas, why couldn't Conor KO him late in the fight?

I could potentially see as well Khabib coming off worst standing for a round or two before taking over as Conor ties.

Technically as well I tend to think Khabib standing is closer to Conor than Conor is to him on the ground. Yeah there's more potential of a finish at any moment standing but if Khabib gets Conor down with time to work then he almost certainly is going to inflict serious punishment on him, standing on the other hand I could potentially see a slow fight without a ton of action.

I seriously doubt this will be a war of attrition. I doubt Khabib can withstand Connor landing multiple lefts on him for more than a round and I doubt Connor will survive getting taken down by Khabib

Most fights are like that. That's how I judge fights to be honest. I watch the body language of the first 2 minutes and I can predict with 90% certainty who is going to win the fight.

I wish I could last 3 minutes.... it's statistically proven an average man lasts 4-5 min. you mofos have no idea what PE is. try 30 seconds. i want to kill myself so badly.
 
If they both gas, it could go 5 rounds, because Conor can't bust a grape once his 8-10 minutes of spunk are gone, and Khabib might struggle to chase him down. Very remote possibility though - I essentially agree with OP.
 
If Khabib wins it won't be in the first round, so I completely disagree with the OP.

This isn't like Brock vs Overeem where the fight was guaranteed to end in the first 3 minutes of the fight, regardless of who wins.
