Media Khabib & Tony Ferguson HEATED Back n Forth TODAY

"Mcnuggets" did better than Tony ever would have against Khabib.

Tony was ultra cool for awhile, then he wasn't.

Do you remember when Paddy first got here?...he didn't type like that.
I think Tony tracked him down and eliminated him for his Sherdog account sir lol
I do, used to be fairly unremarkable, not bad by any means, just normal in presentation and wording. He's obviously put work into the gimmick though, I can respect that lol.

I'm pretty sure now the dust is settled Khabib would've destroyed the Tony that fought Gaethje. But if the fight came together when they were first supposed to fight, it would be cool to see Tony's cardio and game off his back test Khabib's top control. Tony wasn't the guy to just lay there and get controlled, he'd be throwing elbows or whatever he could do off his back.
And to be fair Khabib isn't going to just let him keep guard with feet on hips to get space to elbow. Khabib is getting past the legs and looking for his famed dagestani handcuff. If he achieves that position there's nothing Tony can threaten him with.

Every time it got cancelled, one of my nut hairs turned gray sir lol
Mine fell out hahaha lol

I've never known a fight booked so many times and fall through so many times lol, it was seriously cursed. Tony is very stubborn and won't retire so I think UFC should just announce Tony vs Khabib part 55261470 and that will then stop Tony being able to fight anymore lol. Its a clever trick. We can just keep it booked until eventually the fight is cancelled again because the sun exploded lol

lol.

The only thing Tony would have been doing off his back is getting destroyed hahah.

I love the idea everyone used to have that Tony would butcher him from the bottom with elbows and create all these amazing scrambles that Khabib would struggle with. None of that would have happened. He would have gotten completely controlled and finished easily.
Let me give it straight, I'd favor Khabib heavily if the match came up in Tony's absolute peak. However I think Tony was the guy who does the most damage off his back, he's not someone that is easy to control. Khabib has faded later in a 5 round. It would just be entertaining to see someone to not give up from that position.

Khabib is always so calm and composed, he takes control every second he can. Tony did some crazy stuff, who knows? I think you're right ultimately Tony makes a big mistake and Khabib doesn't let him free.

I'm not sad in the least that their fight never transpired. It would've been a let down due to it being so one sided imo.
Definitely would've been one sided. Like I said it's obvious now who would've won that match.

There's never a time where Tony beats Khabib.

Yeah khabib is a weird one in those scrambles and exchanges. The chaos of Tony on the ground overwhelms a lot of guys no doubt during those times. But khabib is so strong willed and so skilled positionally that I think he sees that chaos as opportunities to secure his next position in the sequence.

Lmao, "because the sun exploded".

It seriously felt that way when they kept booking it.
Felt like a never-ending stooooor-y lol

Only thing Tony has going for him is hoping he makes Khabib work hard for 2.4 rounds, batters him up enough to do some damage, use his inhuman cardio to take over the last 3. Khabib loves when the guy under him quits, then he shreds him down. Either way, it would be a slim chance to victory for Tony, Khabib would've crossed paths right before getting a title shot and wouldn't have left it up to chance and slacked off in training.

Would've been a fun fight, but if I had a time machine to match 2 guys together this wouldn't make the top 10.

It definitely would have been a great fight, and will forever be one of the biggest "ones that got away"

Tony was indestructible back in the day. I think he had a chance to win just by having the endurance and chin he once had, and those elbows.

I just don't get how Tony was supposed to be some hard to control guy.

I mean, the only decent wrestler he faced was Kevin Lee. He wasn't really doing any damage off his back to Lee in r4 but he was able to scramble and create sub attacks. That said, keep in mind, Kevin Lee was gassed as fuck by this point and was sick from staph.

Earlier in that fight Lee got him down easily, and Tony couldn't do a single thing from the bottom. Couldn't land a strike, couldn't create scrambles. Lee did what he wanted and eventually got to mount and was laying in with GNP. The only reason Tony got up was because the round ended.

If Lee is doing that to you, then Khabib is finishing you.

And it's not like he fought Gahtje and the lost all his wrestling ability as a result. He still couldn't do a thing on the ground against Benny and Oli.

I do agree that it might have been interesting if he made it to later rounds against Khabib though, as Khabib did used to slow a bit. I still think Khabib would have been way way too skilled for someone like Tony. Tony would have been slowing too if he was struggling against Khabib's top game for 4 rounds as well.

When he was on his 12 win streak who did he beat that came close to the level of Khabib? Unless you're using chance to mean lucky shot as Khabib just explained.
