Ali is so cunning…
Justin: “Ali did you write that!?”

Yeah I remember that eyepoke, and that was priiime Tony. I see what he was thinking at the time, but in hindsight man I wish he stayed at 155. I know it works here and there, but for the most part I hate when guys go up in weight. A big part of the sport is staying lean and nailing those weight cuts for a lot of guys at least. Look at someone like Usman who is shredded year around and enjoys being a big WW, imagine what his career would look like if he was at 185 this whole time.Yup. At his Prime RDA was a monster. He decimated Cowboy, Benson, Pettis, Diaz etc. Even in his last LW fight before moving up to WW, he was beating Tony before Tony landed a disgusting eyepoke.
RDA's skillset was great, excellent striking and great grappling. His streak during his Prime was great, only a loss to a younger Khabib which is no shame as Khabib is the LW GOAT.

The weight cut was what killed him in the Eddie fight. He was passed out in the shower for like 2-3 full minutes before the fight.
Maybe he was just bragging about his grappling skills because he's been overdue for a crack at the title for about what, a year nowIslam proved it by saying it in his octagon interview, i posted screenshots with subtitles earlier. He wouldn't say it if it wasn't true.
But just because Islam's grappling is the best in the division doesn't mean that there are others who can compete on that level.

The way Khabib closely associates himself with Abdelaziz tells you everything you need to know about his character. Being his manager isn't an excuse since many fighters under Abdelaziz don't stick up for him and guys like Burns openly mock him:

- Islam: 1 top 10 win
Pretty easy to go on a 9 fight win streak when strength of shedule is as weak as Makhachev's. If Islam wanted to get good fights, he shouldn't have pulled out of them. Ppl don't wanna fight Islam cause he's a pull-out merchant like Khabib, not cause they're scared of him.
There's a podcast called Hybrid Unlimited on sporitfy that RDA attended and he said that his weight cutting problems started all the way back in the Diaz fight.
