dumbass question.

the guy who beat mcgregor, or the guy who lost to mcgregor in 13 seconds.

hmmm idk.
I'm not gonna shit on Aldo, I like the guy, but Khabib is statistically the most dominant UFC fighter ever.

He has a pretty strong claim for overall GOAT if we just look at pure skill even though he only stuck around long enough to have a 13 fight UFC winsteak (like GSP)

Are you seriously using gym stories to try and improve someone's fight resume? 🤣

There are so many mediocre fighters that had other fighters talking up about how great they were in the gym. It means nothing.
it means a lot if you can back it up , 29-0 means a lot
never took a damage, never bled. guess eve you will agree that this means a lot

Yep it's not just "gym stories"

It's the world title and multiple defences to back up the claims, the 13 consecutive UFC wins, and more importantly the statistics that show Khabib is the most dominant round for round fighter ever. Unscathed.

There is little reason to doubt him or anyone who speaks so highly about him other than salt.

This is isn't how you rate MMA fighters all time. lol
You go by accomplishments and accolades like number of title defenes and such.

For example, there are a lot of modern day LHWs that would probably beat prime Chuck Liddell but you wouldn't rate them higher then Chuck all time if they never even won a belt.

Same for Matt Hughes, Rich Franklin, etc.

Khabib only defended his title 3 times fighting only once per year. And mostly against lower level comp. The best win of his career is McGregor nearly 2 years away from the sport.

Go watch Khabib's fight with Glesin Tibeau and come back to me with your opinion on the fight.

If we're going off pure skill, he has mid level striking.
His wrestling and grappling are elite but below the level of Khamzat.

I agree that he would be ranked higher all time if he stayed longer and beat people like Olivera and Usman but he simply didn't.

Jon Jones was champion before Khabib's UFC debut and was still reigning until 2 months before Khabib's retirement when he vacated the title to move to HW to try and fight Stipe.

During that final second LHW reign he accomplished as many title wins as Khabib had in his entire career in only 14 months as compared to the 30 months Khabib took. Even without the prior GOAT reign he matched Khabib's entire career accomplishments in half the time.

Then went and won another 2 HW title fights on top of things 3-4 years after Khabib's retirement, who never tried to win the WW belt despite spending the majority of his career at WW before the UFC.

Jon was also just as dominant, if not more so, until Gus finally tested him... and that was his 6th title defence not only 3 like Khabib ever did. Why would Khabib get extra points for not being tested in half as many fights? And it's not like it's even true that he was supremely dominant considering Khabib had the Gleison fight in his 2nd fight that most think he lost.

Khabib's resume and accomplishments are hilariously weak when tried to pair against actual GOATs of the sport. What ifs are nothing.
You can dispute GOATbib's legacy all you want but to call it "hilariously weak" shows you're more traumatized about his reign than you're letting on.

<{outtahere}>

Why would beating Oliveira and Usman be the gauge of his greatness? Oliveira was not even top 5 when he retired and Usman was on another division.
Ahhhh blathering tyke, you.

Islam still has more wins period, and over greater quality. His Charles win is better than anything Khabib has, including literally being better head to head over many of Khabib's best wins. Why is defending against Justin and Poirier, who again Poirier Islam also did, better than beating Oliveira who's much better than both of them?

Khabib was objectively surpassed awhile ago and it's his own fault for the lackluster resume he left behind.
Poor Khabib, being shit on by a world-renowned, highly-accomplished savant on Sherdog. What will he ever do now

Khabib had 13 UFC fights in 8 years. Across that same span of time, Cowboy Cerrone made the walk to the Octagon 31 times (more fights than Khabibs entire MMA career)

Aldo's longevity and ability to move down a weight class and remain a top 5-10 talent is nothing short of unbelievable. Khabib is massively overrated
And it took Cerrone all those 31 fights to win the belt... oh wait.
<GOT2>

I’m glad in these trying times, where everyone is firmly entrenched in their “beliefs”, that we all can come together and celebrate the greatness that is José Aldo.

Khabib went mia just when things started to get good.

Jose had a run so dominant things got boring

Theres your answer

A close decision scored for 23 year old Khabib where he took zero damage and got the coin toss because he had 5 more minutes "octagon control time".

If I quickly comb through other GOAT candidates they have a bunch of real losses and close decision wins.

I'm even more convinced Khabib is the goat now thanks for that, being able to find a way to beat a guy with some of the best tdd in MMA history in Tibau who was prime and juiced to the gills while Khabib was so green showed his incredible will to win.

Fun Fact:

If you want to check if somebody is a real Bathtub-Warrior, you can do the following:

1. Go to the upper-right corner of your screen,
2. open the search function, and
3. in the search bar write “Tibao juiced to the gills”.
4. Under “By,” enter the name of the alleged Bathtub-Warrior.
5. If they have ever written these words together in one post, you can be certain that the person is a Bathtub-Veteran.

PS: You’ll be surprised how many of them have written this exact combination of words. Often not just once, but multiple times. It’s also suspicious that it’s always this exact phrase and this specific way of describing it. Almost like… well, it’s as if most Bathtubbers are just alter-ego accounts of one—or a handful—of fanatical individuals using them as a kind of mentally twisted outlet to vent their frustrations and religiously motivated urges.

I can see people having Aldo above Khabib
But hate for Khabib goes so far that some people actually think Aldo would beat him 😂
Aldo got bullied by Yan who is a small fella compared to Khabib
If Khabib would have fought aldo and dusted him then you would whine about him beating smaller guys, like idiotic bums

Khabib was never curled up beaten to the point of ending up in a hospital.Deal with it 😎
