Izzy has the better MW career no question.

All of Dan's best wins are at 205lbs or above.

Ko win over Wanderlei for Pride Middleweight Belt - 205lbs
Ko win over Fedor (his best win) - at Heavyweight
Two wins over kinda over the hill Shogun - 205lbs (And the 1st fight should have been a draw)

I can’t believe this is a real question.

The answer is obviously Adesanya.

The man has eight title wins.
That's UFC hype, did he win a WW GP in Pride where you had to fight twice in one night because Hendo did and that's much harder and a greater accomplishment than winning single fights in UFC where you don't have to worry about fighting another top ten opponent directly after already having had a fight, for that reason alone Hendo is better and more accomplished.

Did I miss something with Adesanya? I thought he was okay… didn’t face anyone elite because of the landscape at the time and showed no grappling ability that I remember.

Hendo was just a badass that took on weight-bullies and had a pure winner’s mentality. He beat people he had no reason beating on paper over multiple organizations… went up in weight too and held his own.

Out aggro’d Wandy in Pride and I think won or did very well in a Grand Prix. I don’t think Izzy with pretty wins over a weak division and losing to anyone with good defense can even be in the conversation.

Hendo wanted JBJ, ffs. Just a different breed.

Guy knocked out Fedor, lmao. Izzy couldn’t even punch Romero without shitting a brick.

Two of the very best at that weight class.

Who do you rank higher?

This is hard for me because I don't like otaku Izzy but his resume is better

Don't judge Hendo on his entire career. Judge him by what he did at 180-85

I'm going to play Devil's Advocate a bit.
Hendo got extremely lucky in that Fedor fight. LMAO
I remember that fight!
Hendo was getting his ass kicked up until the end where Fedor slipped and got caught by a big bomb on the ground.
Fedor would have won that 9.5 out of 10 times.
Amazing come from behind victory by Dan though.
That's why we love him.

Hendo is above Izzy on any list when it comes to legacy.

Hendo definitely better overall open weight career.
Izzy better strictly mw career.

Izzy overall All Time as well honestly.

Henderson has a spotty record. He'll win some and lose some.

Won a split decision against Big Nog (so argubily didn't win) but then lost to Big Nog by armbar in their next two fights

Lost to Wanderlei in 2000 Decision (unanimous). He KOS Wanderlei in 07 but keep in mind Wanderlei was coming off the brutal Cro Cop head kick loss.
Lost to Rampage
Lost to Anderson
Kos Bisping
Losses to Jake Shields
Gets a lucky low % ko win over Fedor

Has two amazing wins against Shogun
Loses a split decision to Lyoto
Loses a split decision to Rashad Evans

He also lost to Vitor a couple of times by finish (but I don't these against him because this was Vitor while on steroids)
Tko'd by Mousasi
------
Izzy's Pereira win is better then any of Dan's wins other then Fedor. (Because Fedor is an elite grappler as well)
Pereira is a way more elite striker then prime Wanderlei or Shogun, weight drained or not.
I can admit this as Shogun/Wanderlei fan boy from back in the old days.

I can't really say a singular win over Fedor is enough to put Dan over Adesanya who has multiple title defenses.
I do agree Dan mostly had tougher fights but a majority of those "tougher" fights he lost.
----
As far as who I think would win in a fight between prime Hendo and prime Izzy, I could see it going either way.
That's a tough fight.

Izzy has 3 wins over former major promotion champions. One of them being a washed up past prime Anderson. Hendo has beaten 8 former major promotion champions. It's not even fucking close.

so by your logic, hendo arguably didnt lose to lyoto and rashad.

If you voted Hendo it's solely on bias. Overall, Hendo has a better career, but at 185, he does not.

1. Wanderlei Silva – PRIDE 12 (2000)

2. Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira – PRIDE 27 (2004)

3. Ricardo Arona – PRIDE 28 (2004)

4. Kazuo Misaki – PRIDE 33 (2007)

5. Quinton “Rampage” Jackson – UFC 75 (2007)

6. Anderson Silva – UFC 82 (2008)

7. Jake Shields – Strikeforce: Nashville (2010)

8. Rashad Evans – UFC 161 (2013)

9. Lyoto Machida – UFC 157 (2013)

10. Vitor Belfort – UFC Fight Night 32 (2013)

11. Daniel Cormier – UFC 173 (2014)

12. Gegard Mousasi – UFC Fight Night 68 (2015)

13. Vitor Belfort (again) – UFC Fight Night 77 (2015)

14. Michael Bisping – UFC 204 (2016)

Middleweight is easily Izzy, but the list of just dans losses speaks for himself. Outside of Misaki, you could pretty much say it takes a legend to defeat him, and the fact that he fought that many great fighters is insane. He was still shadow realming people in his 40s. I honestly see him as Rampage's biggest win so I'm changing it up. Dan is greater but for all of you talking about Izzy losing to Strickland....... Strickland is a good fighter I don't know why people pretend he isn't.

at middleweight? adesanya. all time p4p? hendo, pretty clearly.
