Yes he hit the lottery with 7 world titles Sure pal.

Mendez has obviously completley built Khabib's striking from the ground up,and it showed improvement in every fight. So much so that when Mendez is saying go for the TD,Khabib wants to use his striking more.

Javier, a striking coach, getting credit for a bunch of grapplers who do nothing but grapple just because they use his gym for a few weeks while they're in the states leading up to their fights. Pretty good gig.

I'd go with Fernand Lopez. Gane has had an excellent year.

If Khabib had no striking he would not have gotten to where he was. None of the guys there would.
Khabib had a hard time closing distance on MJ,having no answer for his jab. They fixed that in the next fight. Then you see him later on baiting Conor to throw the left. This shit didnt just sprout from nowhere.

LOL ok. I'm sure Whitman, Henry, Brown, etc would not have had similar success teaching those guys the basic combinations the utilize to implement their grapple base

And people continually keep going to AKA for a reason. But they are alot dumber than you are. Sure!

They go there for the histrocial roster and lineage of solid grapplers and presumably the location /weather. I'm not saying Mendez is a bad coach but to single out striking among their best fighters is faulty consider none of them are even close to being top tier at striking. They all utilize very basic striking in order to garner their grappling advantage. Any notable gym could do the same.

Now Whitman took a very AKA esque fighter in Usman and has worked with him to develop one of the best jabs in the organization along with enhanced, fight ending punching power.

You seem to have made a very thorough, highly intensive analysis of Javier's coaching acumen, probably with some fly - on - the - wall info thrown in there as well.
I guess we ought to submit to your obvious expertise on the matter.

I'm sure Conor also feels Kav deserves coach of the year recognition.
