Media Khabib explains how UFC robbed him from a title shot in 2016, and gave it to Conor instead

Everyone knows this already. They actually sent him 2 contracts. It was because Eddie was trying to renegotiate his contract to get more money. The UFC was like "you want to renegotiate? Fuck it then don't fight Conor, fight Khabib instead."

It's called being a pawn in someone else's chess game.

Khabib is bullshitting. He didn't just say ok. He was upset lol. He didn't understand the promotion back then but he understands it now.
The two aren’t mutually exclusive, he was upset but then still said ok and accepted the fight. He didn’t throw a hissy fit and sue the promotion (which was his right), he fought on the very same card of his revoked title fight.

Khabib: ''When they give me the fight in 2016, when they gave me the fight versus Alvarez (Eddie) and I signed contract, fight for the title, in madison square garden. After couple days, they give Conor fight, and they say ok you gonna fight Michael Johnson. I said no problem.''

18:40 - time stamp,

I mentioned this many times before,

And other people too;

But I just learned that Khabib actually signed to fight for the title in 2016, actually I didn't know this important detail, which means since there was already a signed contract for a title fight, Khabib could actually sue UFC for this, but of course I doubt it would happen anything fruitful, but at least people could know how Khabib got robbed from a title shot in 2016 because of UFC and Conor.

But UFC just told him no, and they gave the title shot to Conor, right after Conor embarassing himself against mediocre LW (no.7 ranked at the time) Nate Diaz in 2 fights in a row, in the first one he got choked, and in the second fight he barely won in a close decision by running from Nate from time to time.

And as you guys remember, Conor fought Floyd instead defending his title against Khabib, after that undeserved title shot, and UFC let Conor keep his undeserved title for 2 years, not vacating it, making Khabib wait for 2 years, probably also robbing Khabib from 3 or 4 title defenses more.

And then when I see some people running their mouth about Khabib not having enough title defenses, especially Conor and Conor fans are running their mouth about this? The guy that's responsible for this? That makes me laugh. <{outtahere}>

Another fun fact is that, UFC let Conor to become this ''double champ'', if they didn't rob Khabib from a LW title fight in 2016, Khabib would smash Eddie inside of 1 round, and Conor could never get his hands on a LW title as long as Khabib holds it as a champ, UFC knew this, so they couldn't basically let Khabib won the title, so they immediately give the title fight to Conor, by even ignoring the already signed contract for the fight between Khabib and Eddie.

So Conor is only a ''double champ'' because they robbed Khabib from his deserved title shot in 2016, UFC's favoritism is responsible from Conor's ''double champ'' career. Conor is a UFC project, nothing more. {<redford}

Smh

Conor was the first double champ because the UFC wanted Aldo to drop the FW title before fighting Pettis for the LW title. If they would've let Aldo do what they let Conor do where they let him fight for the LW title while still being the FW champ Aldo would've been first.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The UFC is closer to professional wrestling than an actual competitive sport's league.

Eddie chose Conor. Besides Khabib was gifted a far easier championship fight in ragey Al.

damn.... either way eddie sanchez was getting styled on poor guy

Yeah, I totally believe they gave Khabib a title shot coming off his 2 year layoff and performance over unranked Horcher.

Lol no. They gave him Johnson precisely because nobody knew him. Back then he was just the scary Russian who was never around and so nobody knew who he was except 1 guy in any group of fans. It's the Johnson fight, and the walloping he gave him, that caused his push to the title.

As intended by the UFC. They threw him a bone.

The conor hate on here is getting out of hand imo.

Sure, he seems like a total dirtbag but he did beat eddie.

Khabob fans needs to chill, he will never be as famous as mcgregor no matter how many weird threads you make.

no one cares about their fighters fame and money besides conor fans. No one else is so pathetic they try to emotionally attach themselves to their favorite fighters personal lives besides conor fans.

Khabib probably couldn't sue if Alvarez didn't sign the deal. Maybe Eddie declined it or was presented both and chose Conor. I don't think this is the only time with Khabib, let alone the whole division, that they have done this type of bait and switch.

Then explain to me why its almost daily khabib vs conor threads?

I enjoy both of them when they are fighting, but this whole situation was created by danas pursuit of money, at the end of the day it says nothing about either khabib or conor other than that conor did beat eddie imo.

Well this is some good old plot twist. that filthy Habibi scum, how dare he get mad at Dana for not honoring the contract he signed. Send him to the gulag and award Dana a purple heart of valor IMMEDIATELY!!! Dana.... So brave.... So Strong....

I don't give one fuck who is more famous. I am not a teenage girl. I care who the better fighter is and Khabib made that very clear.

How do he sue the company? They sent Khabib a contract. They sent one to Alvarez that Alvarez never signed. The UFC couldn't force Alvarez to sign. Then they sent Alvarez a contract to fight McGregor which he did sign. If Alvarez wouldn't signed the contract to fight Khabib then they would've fought.

How are you going to sue the UFC because Alvarez didn't sign the contract? The UFC was dead serious about Eddie fighting Khabib if he wanted to renegotiate his contract to fight McGregor.

i see your point, but that's an exaggeration.

There is favoritism, especially around title shots and money fights. But the fights aren't fixed. The favoritism has probably gotten worse lately, but more than half the title shots are still champ v #1 contender (unless injury or rematch dictates another top 5). Before it was probably 85% of the time.

Because luckily, most fans most of the time still want to see #1 v #2. And Dana gives fans what they want. Sadly, most fans also want to see drama creators, so we also get more Conor & Colby, less Demetrious Johnson.

I'd say on the scale of 1 to WWE it's a 15, not 51 or higher (what you're saying)

On a scale of 1 to 10. 1 being competitive sport's league and 10 being WWE I'll say it's a solid 6.5.

FFS we just saw Masdival get another TS over much more deserving fighters like WB (who beat Masdival in the not to far past) and Leon.

We had the McGregor, Alvarez, Khabib, Ferguson fiasco.

Everyone wants to see Jon vs Ngannou but $$$ keeps that from happening.

If Poirier beats Oliveira then McGregor would've backdoored himself into a LW title shot.

Bisping ruined the MW division by fighting 3-7 in his last 10 Dan Henderson because that's what the fans wanted.

The UFC is about entertainment and making money over true competitive legitimacy.
