Keosawa's Powerlifting Log

That did look super-easy. If your face wasn't so red, it would look like you were just doing a regular working set rep.

lol, I think my face turns red when I bend down to tie my shoes at this point. Last Friday I popped a blood vessel in my eye and didn't even realize it until I was taking out my contacts.

I wish my PRs looked this easy. Good job keo!

Nice pr keo. As everyone else has already said it looked way too easy, congrats still though.

Great lift Keo!

Holy hell you made that look easy.

Good shit.

Thanks guys. I know my squat's only going to continue to improve, and I really believe that in a year, it could surpass my deadlift as my best lift. I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing and hope the gains keep coming; it's pretty crazy watching my meet video from last year at this time and seeing myself struggle with 386.

^^^ Wtf?? I'm sure you can have a non-confrontational talk with the guy and ask him to respect your training just like you would his(regardless of how asinine it is).

This shit boggles my mind. If someone does something silly in the gym I'm at now, I'll just ask them to leave.

Oh, also, there's a rare video of my benching in my log from yesterday. It's a "heavy" single I worked up to real quick. It's TNG but I lose a lot of tightness. Given that I am not a bencher, I'd appreciate your input. We'll call it paying it forward in case you ever want to snatch. :)

Interesting. I will take a look at some point today and offer some feedback.

Great PR man. Anything youve found helped your squat more than other things? :D

Well, I like a little criticism every now and then, so I must thank you for that.

That is what I am here for.

I still need to get back down to IC to train with you before you are out of there.

By the way, did you ever get a hold of Phil? He has been a ghost lately.

I didn't even noticed anybody in the background. I was too busy watching a 148lb dude Squat 445 lbs. Ridiculous.

I know I'm late to the party but...do you really think that's your 1RM? Looked smooth and easy.

I did not, no. And yes, you need to get over here, but there's no rush; I'm in the state until July, and I'm not moving away anytime soon.

what a smooth squat rep lol

Yeah man, it felt smooth. I've gotten much better at not GM'ing the weight out of the hole. If you watch me squat from a year ago, I really came forward out of the hole and had to grind the weight up with my lower back.

lol, thank you sir.

Awesome, did you google search him?

Oh and sweet PR dude.

I did, yes, but I was already vaguely familiar with the reference.

I know I have more in the tank, but I failed 460 on this day, so it's not like it's a given. I know I have the strength to squat it, but I'm still adjusting to the feel of squatting in the mid-400s. I've noticed now that my technique has to be solid on my really heavy squat attempts because I don't have the strength to compensate for a miscue, whereas in the past I could recover if I fell forward a bit.

This is a lifelong pursuit of mine, and I know that bigger squats are on the horizon. I feel as if I can someday squat 500+ at 148 lbs.; if I continue to see steady gains, it could come as quickly as 2013. There are numbers that I previously thought unapproachable that I'm now reconsidering, like hitting a 500-lb. squat at this weight.

Race to 500, Keo ?

Lol.

You read my mind. I have no clue when I could do this by--I try not to set timelines for myself in training--but I'd love to achieve it one day. I didn't think I'd ever be able to make it at this weight, but now I'm starting to rethink that.
