Keosawa's Powerlifting Log

This gives me confidence that I can pull 562 in April and make a run at four times' bodyweight by the end of the year.

Awesome work as always Keo, I don't comment much but I always check your log, it serves as a good inspiration to beginners like myself, keep up the good lifting

You comment plenty, jester. Thanks for the kind words.

I love you.

lol, I'm still over thirty pounds away. That seems like a massive gap to me now, but who knows how my strength will develop this year.

4x BW would be humongous! Can't wait to see you hit it.

It's a long way away. I'd love to do it too, but it's going to take some serious work. I'm just focused on finally pulling 560 this week and setting a new deadlift PR.

When I reach 185 were having a pose down. Nobody on Sherdog can beat my lat spread... NOBODY!

I suppose I'll have to answer this challenge, then.

Today's my max-test week! I'm going to treat it like a meet, spaced out over three days, and go for PRs in the squat and deadlift. My targets for the week are a 445 squat, 280 paused bench press, and 560 deadlift, and if I hit those, I'll be ecstatic.

My lat spread is pretty good. If I could get down to 175 I'd be willing to square off against you. Or, at least, 38 year old you (to make it fair). I say that I take my pics and put them in a time vault- preferably a real time vault constructed at great expense, as is appropriate for such an epic challenge. You take your pics once you are 38, and an international panel of respected judges decides the winner.

And I'm also the very proud owner of a 2011 JauntyPoint, as seen below.

Between awesome lifting stats, competition record, the "deal with it" GIF and the JauntyPoint, I think you probably have the best first page of any log, by a comfortable margin.

The instances of Keosawa pics seem to be on the rise. I suspect that there is a camera operator looking for excuses to get him to take his shirt off.

Hell, if you hit those, we'll be ecstatic for you. :D

Thank you JA. I think my front page is looking more and more narcissistic--the last .gif isn't helping in that department--but I'm going to just go with it.

And Stonebreaker, these photos have been taken by me, and only me. The would-be photographer I assume you're implying here hasn't been present for these photo-taking sessions. She doesn't need a camera for this to happen...

I hit my squat PR! It was so easy that I tried for 460, which is higher than my planned third attempt in April. I got forward and missed this one, but I felt confident that I could handle this weight and hit 460+ at my April meet. It'll just be a matter of how much I get stronger from resting for a week and binge-eating beforehand.

I have a video, and I'm going to post it today, because I'm really proud of how smooth the attempt looked. Babyeater's coming over in half an hour, but I guess she's going to have to wait for me to upload this. Hopefully she's half as enthused as I am.

Every time you guys talk about Babyeater, it reminds me of the Marvel character Demogorge, better known as the God Eater, don't ask me why.

Thanks everyone!

Babyeater's the girl I'm dating. She's sitting next to me right now, suffering as I finish this squat video for you all:

I think the important part of this video is the guy getting super powerful behind you. Oh how I miss the retards that come through Iowa's weight room.
