I think my 415 for three wiped me out, because my box squats sucked today. Still, 415x3 is a three-rep PR, and it means I've now tripled a bigger weight than my best squat in my October meet (413). My bench press and deadlift might not be shooting up, but my squat sure is.

After struggling with 550, I did the smart thing and just called it for the day on box squats. We finished with a bunch of seated goodmornings for the erectors. All in all, I'm satisfied with this day.

The best part is that I weighed in at 157.4 before training today, and that was after my big meal (which will usually put 3 lbs. on me). That means I've dropped a good 2-3 lbs. in the last week! Dropping those morning carbs has made a huge difference, and I'm very surprised my strength hasn't suffered much, because that's a big drop for me in just one week's time.
 
Also, I went out with this girl last night. We had dinner and stayed and talked for a while...okay, five hours. Thank goodness it was midnight, because I had all but run out of things to talk about. I walked her back to her car, which led to her giving me a ride home (I couldn't exactly refuse, since she was going in the same direction as me). Yes, this threw me off, so I made some serious setup mistakes on the kiss (thanks, JA), but I will indeed correct my technique next time. She's nice, and I'll see her again, but it looks like it will have to be next week. I don't know if she's ready to jump back into another relationship, but I'm going to take it slow and see what happens.

Good that you recognize your error. But a word of warning... however strongly you might want to use a video to record your next attempt (in order to analyze form later), this kind of thing doesn't usually go down well on a second date.

Super impressive lifting.

I've noticed that after sex my workout is either a fantastic PR shattering session, or absolutely abysmal. Worth the risk imo

If I hit 445 next week, then I will open at 413, go to 446 for my second attempt (for 3xBW), and try for a little extra for my third based on how I feel. 446 is definitely my goal though.

If I had to guess, my second attempts might end up being 446 for squat, 292 for bench press, and 562 for deadlift, because those attempts would give me 1300 exactly. Ideally, I'd hit all three attempts on my squat to give myself a bit of leeway on the other lifts; getting my bench back up to the 292 range is going to be a race against time.

i bet its close on 445, id say you have a good chance, that first rep at 415 loked pretty damn good

1300 on just your 2nd attempts would be pretty awesome

Same. Though I wasn't thinking about sex as much as a stable relationship. What will become of Keosawa the powerlifter if and when he finds real happiness in his personal life?

April might end up being 1300 or death for me, since I don't think I would be satisfied with anything less. Therefore, I probably won't take my time getting there; I'll do the lifts I need on my second attempts so that I'm as fresh as possible. And if something goes wrong, I'll have two shots at it.

Anyway, April's still a long way away, and a lot can change between now and then. I'll probably have three more PR attempts on the squat between now and the competition.
 
I am probably the worst person to talk to when it comes to choosing and prioritizing between things, and judging the outcomes of different decisions. I usually just decide or fail to decide and then see what happens. If you can find a woman who supports you, and you keep competing, i dont see why you wouldnt get even stronger.

Is the first triple 415? You make it look so light.

I love your squat form. It seems to neat and efficient. And to my highly inexpert eye, exactly the right depth for a low bar squat.

And my squat form is unusual because of how I keep my feet so close together while squatting low bar, but that's always just been what has worked for me; as long as my squat keeps going up, I'll stick with it and supplement it with some wide-stance squatting on the side. It's also made it really easy for me to hit depth just about at the right spot every time. Controlling my descent has helped too; before last October, I really used to dive-bomb into the hole, and I'd get deeper that way, but it's oftentimes throw me forward.

I thought you were going to widen your squat stance after going to west side? Is this narrow stance your "go-to" squat stance?

I do wide-stance squats for all of my dynamic-effort sessions. I'm still training heavy with a narrow stance though.

And I was also wearing knee wraps, which help, lol.

If he finds real happiness, them he won't give a damn becasue, you know, he'll be happy.

Really Keo...148lbs on the vid. Just last week you were 160. Are we fibbing to ourselves a little?

As always, I'm kidding. Very impressive stuff. How much were reverse band box squats at the end?
