"Often referred to as the "first shirt", or "shirt", the first sergeant is responsible for the morale, welfare, and conduct of all the enlisted members in a squadron and is the chief adviser to the squadron commander concerning the enlisted force."

As someone who was active duty from '04-'08 and had three duty stations with five First Sergeants, I never heard the terms 'First Shirt' or 'Shirt' in regards to that position.

And I laughed out loud after reading 'responsible for the morale & welfare of enlisted members.' Maybe 'conduct' is accurate because one of the First Sergeants was relieved of command after too many soldiers got in trouble on the weekends.

From context it sounds like he's speaking in that capacity from this video.
Sounds more like he's speaking like a former soldier from experience he doesn't actually have.

That's all fair and I didn't expect a .2 second google search to make me an expert nor even necessarily be the correct definition by branch but again, he didn't say he was in Afghanistan. If you'd like him to use clearer language fair enough, I did see one video where he was mentioning weapons that was definitely ambiguous where I think he should've used more precise language but the rest I've seen so far has been grasping. I'd have to see more of this video but the fact that the uploader says he said something that he didn't already makes me dubious.

The interesting thing about that tweet is that that tweeter explicitly says he says he was deployed to Afghanistan and he doesn't. Again, you could infer it I guess? But then, if you're going to nitpick someone for what they say then also don't say they said something that they didn't? I mean, in the interest of credibility alone, ya kinda gotta not misquote something or, ya know, make shit up, makes you look bad from the jump whether or not you even had a point to begin with.
It demonstrates how fucking cooked these weirdo trumpers are. They don't even watch the clip, they see the headline and then start spamming it on forums and their FB walls like the dumb NPCs they are.

Wrong? Interesting revision of history. You're a "combat" vet like Vance is. I proved my combat valor chops, quite literally.
Yes dumb dumb. You accused me half a dozen times of stolen valor and lying (including a few times after I showed I had a combat metal) all because I disagreed with you opinion. That's the definition of being wrong. At this point I don't even think you're playing with a full deck.

I'll concede that was a dishonest detail added by who authored that tweet account.

Agreed. In the spirit of honesty, those quick quotes at 0:08 & 0:18 of the clip I posted aren't enough to the add to the 'Stolen Valor' accusations. There's already enough to get him on that already.

if there is so much proof already available, why bother reaching for the strands like that video?

Correct and the tweet author doesn't excuse Walz from using "we" a bunch of times in the video as if he was one of them. He already had to back track his "weapons of war" comment and these same guys were all defending that line as well.

You believe a tweet that literally has a video.clip that shows the tweet is wrong, you believe the tweet. You have a full deck? LMAO. The truth was literally in the tweet and you chose the lie.

Pathetic. Take some time to self reflect before buying lies wholesale.

See my comment above yours.

Is this what you're referring to? This is the only quote I heard that I had an issue with and after googling it seems they addressed it:

The other issues brought against him that I'm aware of is him retiring before his unit was deployed but from the sound of things that was in the works for awhile and also, he'd already served 24 years. His rank as well, he retired as what, Master Sergeant but was demoted post retirement because he didn't complete the schooling? Or Master Sergeant might've been what he was "demoted" to, I don't remember exactly. And the last that I remember is him wearing an SF that if I recall correctly was gifted to him but he never claimed to be SF.

You still chose the lie UNTIL someone pointed it out.

Reflect. You can grow from this. Maybe actually earn some valor.
What did lie about? How do you know I didn't listen to it before commenting? You don't think its a joke that someone would lump himself in with vets suffering from PTSD even though he never saw combat?

Pathetic. I expect better from veterans. Really sad to see people who took the oath flush it down the drain for draft dodger Donald fucking trump.

Its less than a minute long and simply isn't what the poster claims it is. I'd love to see the full clip because I'm quite sure the context will make you and the other clowns look even stupider.

I don't know how anyone could watch that and think it's what the poster claims. Pathetic. Your brain is cooked. Take some time to reflect, you can be a better person, maybe
