Elections Kamala Harris picks Minnesota governor Tim Walz as VP running mate

Do you like this pick for VP?

Walz saying “hate speech” and misinformation should be illegal is a showstopper for me. Hate and misinformation are subjective and protected under the first amendment.

Kamala also said we need equality of outcomes which is straight Marxist.

When you can’t get freedom of speech and basic principles right, I don’t want you running the country.

Then I hope you dont plan for either guy, because Trump literally plans to use the Government to silence dissent.

'Exactly as they are now.'
I very much doubt that, because the means of communication were vastly different sixty years ago. Unless mouthpieces on the radio, B&W TVs, and newspaper were saying it very few independent thinkers came to that conclusion.

By the way, you may not have heard this before, but the. Civil Rights Act was very much bipartisan legislation, and not just with 1 or 2 left-leaning Republicans - A higher percentage of Republicans voted for the CRA than Democrats.

"The House passed the bill after 70 days of public hearings and testimony in a 290-130 vote. The bill received 152 “yea” votes from Democrats, or 60 percent of their party, and 138 votes from Republicans, or 78 percent of their party.

So the marxism accusations were for BOTH parties?
Tim has made my life better. What is your biggest accomplishment? Posting on sherdog I guess?

Well... they do now. They didn't at the time though. All the same accusations about race baiting communist agitators were levelled then exactly as they are now.

Saying people agree the Civil Rights Movement was a net positive is nonsense. One of the main premises of the Project 2025 goons is to roll back the Country to before it. Because they f*ckin hate it.

So what would you say are the three or four most affective of Trumps proposed policies that would most help the average American?
"Affective"?

Closing the border, lowering taxes for everybody, but especially the 5 million middle and working class tipped workers who won't have their tips taxed, stop funding foreign wars, increase energy production to lower the costs, school choice and keeping women's sports for women.

He already did the job and the average family's income increased and energy was cheaper, and has declined under the Harris administration or whoever the hell is running the country for dementia Joe, and we've had a years long border crisis.

Here's the platform page from his campaign website.

Here is the comprehensive list of policies from the Harris website...

just useless, because if you are not in the fight against fascism, you are tacitly embracing it.

Correct. And I maintain this both to lukewarm disenfranchised centrists, enlightened non-affiliated ones, and accelerationist Tankies/lefties who dump on electorialism. All are just ok with handing the keys to the drunk driver.

All of this sh*t would tank the economy, and you would blame Biden even if it lasted 30 more years.

Lol, controlling illegal migration and increasing energy production would "tank the economy". "How the fuck are we supposed to pay for foreign wars if we don't tax the shit out of waitresses". We already didn't tax tips until the 80s, and even long after that they were mostly cash so they were easier to just keep, but it's a good thing you're here to sound the alarm and let everyone know that the entire economy will topple if we don't confiscate more money from those greedy waitresses.

I think both sides know that their presidential pick has plenty of baggage so they’ve deduced going after the VP picks hard. Imo, neither Vance nor Walz have a ton of skeletons in the closet so of course you’re gonna get the “stolen valor, drank horse semen, fucked his couch, hates kids” kind of stuff.
Ah yes, the classics!

Honestly though these are pretty timeless and would garner a similar response of "Well that's pretty jacked up, but not surprising in these crazy times" in many eras.
