Elections Kamala Harris for POTUS

Why did Harris backed off from the FOX News Debate?

Was she afraid she wont be getting scripted questions?

Kamala should set the terms of a debate with SNL, without including Trump in the discussion, like he did with Fox. Then make the appearance and debate SNL Trump, then spam tweets of the debate and pretend it was really him. I honesty think his dipshit fans would fall for it.

The VP has almost no role in anything outside the specific discretion of the President. That "implication" is nonsense.
Okay so on one hand I keep hearing how her greatest accomplishment is being VP. Now being VP is meaningless.

She has all the answers on how to lower prices, but never told them to Biden.

Canā€™t you just say ā€œyeah thatā€™s a pretty stupid lineā€.

So either Biden, who you all loved a month ago, ignores her great ideas or she never told him?

@Limbo Pete in our last interaction I told you I wanted to have an actual constructive conversation.

Do you really think she has the answers she is claiming? If this is the biggest issue for most Americans, why isnā€™t she passing along these answers? Or do you think Biden is just ignoring her?

Why it is important to select a President based on who can come up with an off the cuff answers to something?
1. It signals how adept our "leaders" are at addressing the key issues and concerns of their constituents. If our leader isn't up to speed on the fundamentals of what those topics are, how can a voter feel confident they will develop the best possible solutions? Selecting for the most important leadership role on the entire planet isnt as simple as turning in a book report on time so you go from a C to a B in english class and your parents will allow you to go to the party on Saturday Night.

2. Thinking fast while you're on your feet isn't something everyone is good at, however if you are the leader of the free world, you're likely going to be in postions where other leaders have that ability in their toolbox as a core strength, and they will run circles around you. (SEE: Joe Biden)
Finding people who can complete tasks in an expedited and efficient manner is essential for candidates to receive promotions to high level functions in our society. If you are awakened at 3:30 am with news that China has dropped a nuke on Tokyo, you don't have 24-48 hours to decide what the best course of action is. Even a person like you could get the questions 2 days in advance and come up with a shiny answer to all the questions, voters used to be sharp enough to see right through that, apparently folks like you are willing to lower the bar.

This is one of my bigger issues with her as well. Itā€™s just like when Biden ran and spoke about all of the great changes that he was going to make. Youā€™re the VP, and especially in Kamalaā€™s case, youā€™ve had 4 years to advise the president with your great ideas. What are you saving them for? Are you withholding them from the American people until they elect you as president?

If you truly care about America, make the changes now, especially considering that there is a drooling Mr. Magoo placeholder in office until January who does exactly what heā€™s told.
You know why she can say stuff like this? Blind supporters will just say ā€œwell sheā€™s not presidentā€¦ā€

The fact you have to explain that to someone........... LOL
I am struggling if people are really this dumb.

Can they really believe that the second in command, the one they have been consistently saying was chosen to succeed Biden, has all these answers but never passed them along?

I kept hearing how ā€œitā€™s okay that Biden was old itā€™s his administration that is helping himā€. Is Kamala not part of his administration!?

How can they say she has no input on policy but also say sheā€™s the most capable and was chosen as his successor!? Was Biden making decisions all on his own the last 4 years!?

This is driving me insane that people have this level of thinking.

Trump has all the answers to inflation in every single interview according to himself, yet he refused to tell anybody what they are lmfao.

Just yesterday Trump claimed he had 1% inflation, 0% inflation, and "positive" inflation in a single sentence...

Trump is idiot. What does that have to do with anything?

I guess I'd like my president to at least have a minimal knowledge on a broad range of issues rather than just be a mindless puppet but that's just me.

Good. Then you will definitely be voting blue in November. Did you see Trump's last press conference?

Because they are running against one another.

Things do not exist in a vacuum.
So does Kamala have the answers? Why, if Bidenā€™s administration was so capable, did she not pass along her brilliance these last 4 years?

And what ends up usually happening is they just ramble on and do a word salad filled with either attacks to their opponent, or promises of how they're going to fix the world.
It also gives them a chance to make up shit or misrepresent things that need to be fact checked.
It isn't a good measure of their knowledge or how they'd solve problems.
For big problems, I don't want off the cuff bullshit. You can test how much they actually know by having competent and knowledgeable moderators that ask follow up questions that will force them to explain and defend their thinking. The candidates can also question and attack each other's positions.

She has said many times she's the last one in the room for decisions, the biggest ones like the Afghan withdraw. They rather show their stupidly or play stupid so they don't have to deal with the issue. Hence why the NPC meme is very accurate. Don't get me wrong their bots on the right. I am just glad those same people have the emotional discipline (not) to moderate post they disagree with politically. They never show their bias ....

Anyways don't you have a few bets going with a few WR members?

Heā€™s nuts.

Listening to either of these candidates is nauseating.
He's out ther and says crazy things, one of my very last pics I would want on the ticket. But I will take his policies > the harder left ones.

I appreciate your being candid. And one month ago, I would have 100% agreed with you. Now I only 50% agree with you.

The notion that she had free access to biden's mind and heart

This has got to be the most disingenuous take I've ever heard from you man.... Many presidents treat their vice president like red-headed stepchildren and are given tasks meant to make them undershine and that's just exactly how kamala was treated by Biden.

The notion that she had free access to biden's mind and heart is absolutely uninformed and ridiculous and I think it's disingenuous. Kamala has some amazing policy positions that she's proposing that are kind of mind-blowing to me, but what makes you think Biden wanted to hear them?

Maybe all you listen to is right-wing news sources but I've heard reporting that that's how she was treated all through. I'm just wondering how it is you don't know that?

It's even speculated that that's one of the reasons she liked Walz so much because he just wanted to serve her agenda, wanted to be put to work rather than him being someone with ideas she needs to send away to make look bad.

You're setting up some strawmen here, and coming off as incredibly obtuse.
The VP has pretty much always been more of a ceremonial position. What does "second in command" even mean ? Everything goes through the president. The VP does whatever the president wants them to do, but it's not like the VP has much of any direct power. Arguably, the first lady often seems to have more sway and influence than the VP does. The speaker of the House and Senate majority leader has more power than the VP. The VP only becomes relevant in the unlikely case that the president dies.

Who are all these people saying she was "chosen as his successor"? She was chosen as the VP for the exact same reason that all VPs are chosen: to help Biden get more votes to win the presidency.
That's why Harris chose Walz as her VP instead of another woman, or a black guy. VPs are not chosen for the specific task of 'taking over in case I die'.

Her input and ideas only matter if Biden wants them. I don't understand why that's hard to understand. She isn't the president. She doesn't get to put out her agenda as the VP.
Biden has his own agenda and ideas, so why would he take hers? He thinks he's doing a good job. And it's her job to do whatever the hell he tells her to do.
