Social Justin Trudeau announces resignation

The fact that Canada kept voting for Turdeau for as long as they did assuming that Carney will be more of the same is likely correct. Their hateful rhetoric and continual slide left indicate we need to put more distance in our relationship.

Trump is here to stay for 4 years. Whoever is in charge needs to embrace that. "Standing up" to him will only exacerbate the problem.

Trump is asking for ONE thing. Secure your border. It's like talking to my 8 year old about cleaning his room. It's too much to ask, I'm being a tyrant, he will pout and cross his arms. Yeah, "standing up to me". Once you clean your room, Canada, you can have your tablet back.

Do you honestly believe that all this is to secure the border? While I agree Canada has a lot of house cleaning to do, You have to be fucking retarded to think that's the end game here.

So, where did the "He is just doing this to stay in power" people go?

Clean your room. Then you can have your tablet.

That isn't to say I don't want you to brush your teeth or find your shoes. But right now you need to clean your room.

Clean your room. Then you can have your tablet.

If you keep standing there with your arms crossed you are going to bed early.

I'm not going to lie, as a Canadian conservative I've always known our place amongst the international community and known our deficits, ones that even Trump points out that I can agree with.

Having close ties with the US is something that I look at favourably, but what bothers me the most out of all of what I'm seeing, even beyond Trump's rhetoric, is this infantilization of Canada amongst the American right.

I have a great deal of respect for USA and their history, but I'd be lying if I didn't say the Republicans are fucking horrible for the brand at large. We can agree with a lot, but sometimes when you guys open your fucking mouths it's instant brain cancer and a retraction of favorability for other right wing parties in europe and I'm Canada.

I think the Canadians would be stupid to vote in the liberals in after what they did the past decade, but every time Trump opens his fucking yap or I hear some stupid shit like this, you guys give them more than enough ammunition.

Okay. I understand your feelings and I validate them.

Now go mow the yard if you want your allowance.

So, where did the "He is just doing this to stay in power" people go?
huh ? The smart people never left the room Andy, he did this so that the LIBERALS can stay in power how is that so hard to understand ?

Even Jagmeet is saying they aren't going to support an election at this time because we need to pass legislation to help workers through this.

Well shit, if Jughead says so it must be a good thing. That piece of shit was probably on his hands and knees at Carneys house waiting for him to get home so he could suck him off.

The implication was that he was using authoritarian tactics to immorally/illegally hang on to power. The Liberals have no obligation to call an election before October and it's just plain smart to wait as long as possible. If the NDP's support has moved to the Liberals to the point where it would be an own goal to force an election, that's not the Liberals' fault either.

In no sense did Trudeau--and the attack was directed at him personally, make no mistake--despite your deliberate attempt to say otherwise--do "this" just to hang on to power. It's the sort of strategizing shills like you would applaud were it coming from the Conservatives.

We get it, your butthole drools at the thought of another liberal government.

We now have an unelected PM who does not hold a seat, an election should be called immediately given that situation, but I guess democracy doesn't matter to you very much.

He absolutely has been using this situation to stay in power. Just as Carney will continue to do so. Instead of negotiating these tariffs, we are instead fighting an unwinnable trade war using policies that hurt Canadians further.

Funny how China has now slapped larger tariffs upon us and it is total crickets. Now we are in a bad spot with our two biggest trade partners.

We need to hold an election, it's starting to get ridiculous at this point. If the liberals are going to win okay, but we need to know who the fuck is going to take the reigns for the remainder of Trump's term and we need to know NOW.

If there has not been an election call before the end of April get back to me and we can discuss why, but it's really unlikely to happen any later than about the 21st.

Damn didn't know it was that bad in Canada.

carbon tax didn't go over too well I take it.
He was obsessed with his carbon tax even after a report came out saying how bad it was hurting people and our economy he didnt give a shit and told people they are better off with it. there was a carbon tax rebate check but it was far less then the damaged it caused.
Gaslighting Canadians saying either pay the tax or the planet will burn.

You calling it "smart" from a gaming perspective is worrisome. Party before country is an ugly norm to settle on or cheer.

If the country needs a defined mandate in a time of crisis, waiting until October is not the right thing to do.
