Just got my Bas Rutten Cd's. . . . HOLY ****!!!

To give you a feel for the difference, the Muay Thai is full shadowboxing, with knees, for 2 minutes and 1 minute rest... The all around workout would be two minutes shadowboxing, with knees, followed by 30 seconds of pushups, 30 seconds of sit-ups, 45 seconds of mountain climbers, another minute of shadowboxing, jump up with your knees to your chest 10 times, throw ten right knees, ten left knees, 30 seconds of pushups, 30 seconds of jumping lunges, repeat ad nauseam for half an hour with zero rest period.

True. I actually waited until I could do the full 7 rounds of 3 minute Thai boxing before trying the All Round fighting workout and I still only got 2 rounds into it! My body doesn't defy gravity fast enough for those goddam sprawls.

By the way, nobody seems to be mentioning the 3 minute Thai workout - was that something only on the newer release or something? Its track2 on my Thai CD

So I just got the CDs delivered today and i put up a 70lb heavy bag that i've had for years in my room. Right now its on a chain and swivel but it swings way to much for me to use with the workout. Would a heavy bag spring like this :

Heavy Bag Springs

cut down on the swinging or is there something else I could do.

It's swinging because you're pushing your punches. Snap don't push when you do bag work, and if it starts swinging after a knee or a kick, just give a light jab when it's swinging back to slow it down.

Yea its my hooks and legs that make it swing. It's just Bas goes so quick with the combos that its hard to keep up when I have to slow the bag down.

ive had them for about two years now. actually have the old version on casette and vhs. used them regularly for over a year and it did wonders for me in class. about to get going with them to lose the post marriage weight and to get ready for some amateur kick boxing. they are great and bas is great on the instructional vhs

- dont push with your punches...make 'em snap, so bring that hand back to your face faster...

- or buy a thai bag.

Just thought I'd let ya know that with the New Bas Rutten CD's, there will be B.A.S.

Body Action Stand.

No idea what it is really, can't find any real info on it.

Started doing the Boxing about a month ago and could barely do 2, 2 minute rounds. Now I can do the All around workout for about 20 minutes. All Around Workout is killer especially the pushups!

I used to have that problem when i first started using the CD's. Try just remembering the combo you miss, then bunch the combos together when the bag is back in range. If you notice, the pace of the combos on the CD's varies throughout the rounds, so just feel free to adjust the timing for yourslef. As long as you get all the combos in it's all good.

If you haven't been using the CD's long, I noticed a big improvement in my speed after using them for a few weeks, and keeping up stopped being a problem.

I just got mine yesterday and did the 10x2min boxing workout this morning (shadow boxed 3 rounds and then hit the bag). It made me realize how out of shape I am cardio wise. About 1/2 way through I was getting gassed and wasn't able to punch near 100% in the last 5 rounds.

My main problems were that he goes WAY fast and I couldn't quite keep up. I did the 1, 2, 3, 4 combos OK, but when he would throw in other stuff before and after them (and multiples), I would get behind, have to stop for a second, and then pick back up. My bag/stand setup is also quite noisy so I couldn't hear some of the calls if he made them while my fist was impacting the bag.

I'm thinking about "boxing" to the "thai boxing" cd's until I really get the hang of this?? I believe the punch combos are called a little slower on it since he is leaving a few extra milliseconds for you to throw kicks/knees.

Anyway, I felt like I got a really good conditioning work-out in, and it was a LOT more fun than running/treadmill/bike/etc. I'm somewhat of a "gym rat" so I have a great physical build, but have always had poor cardio because I..... just hate doing cardio... I think this will help me a great deal. I can't wait til I can do a full boxing/thai boxing/mma workout cd at full power and actually hit all the combos.

Just stick with the 10x2min boxing, and try to push through. After I did the CD's about 10 times, I noticed tremendous improvements in the speed of my combos, and keeping up stops being a problem.

Pay attention to Bas's advice between rounds, and it will really help you improve. After a few workouts the combos will become alot more natural, and you won't have to think about the individual punches anymore.

Go full speed and full power, and if you getting gassed go as long as you can, and add more rounds as you progress until your doing all 10. Like Bas says, don't throw a setup jab, throw KO jabs. If you half ass your rounds you may be tempted to move onto 3 minute rounds, when you still aren't completing the 2 minute rounds with power.

Trust me, if your just starting out, you'll see improvements in your speed almost immediately.

I just did the complete 2 minute round boxing workout. I already had blisters on my feet so I put on my wrestling shoes and did it. I think I'll do it again later tonight

Source?

I recieved the cd cet as a gift and I am quite suprised at how fast I am blowing up. I grapple for 3 hours a day, weight train 4 to 5 days a week and do the tread for 30 minutes after every weight workout, but for some reason after 3 rds of 2 minutes my heart feels like its going to explode! and this is just from the boxing cd.

Could I be over training? or does my body just need to get used this new workout? has anyone used this program before?

it's the most played "song" on my ITunes list...i got a new comp. about 2 months ago and it has 61 plays (i got the computer 62 days ago, I just checked.) IT IS AMAZING<3333

I should probably pick these up, seeing how my conditioning could use some tuning.

i have this workout and the Pitworkout. IMO the pitworkout is better for conditioning and Bas is good for shawdowboxing and getting fluid with combos

Huge Bas fan, but was always wondering about the cd's. Is it him giving instructions/examples? I guess I can't wrap my head around how it would work out, but it looks like it does from what you guys are saying.
