When things get easy, just hold a medicine ball or light weights and go at it.

If this is easy for you, jump with your knees to your chest, ten times right now...

Every time I hear this I have the urge to go find Bas, wait til he's not looking and smack him in the back of the head while screaming "NO, its not easy, I feel like I'm about to cough up my lung you bastard, stop making fun of me". But then again maybe I'm just a really angry person.

I have one of the all around cd's and yes it is intense. Yes, it showed me very quickly how out of shape I am...

LOL! Took the words right out off my mouth!

ANYWAY...... I do 3-4 rounds of 2min skipping/1min break and then I strecth and shadow box a bit for another 10 minutes b4 I hit the Bas workout. 3 rounds of the thai boxing and the 2 rounds of the boxing 2min rounds. "MAN I AM FUCKED AT THE END!" And I do this 3 times a week. It an't easy trying to reach the end of one track. (2min round, can't do 3  )

JUST WONDERING HOW EVERYONE ELSE IMPLEMENTS THESE WORKOUTS INTO THEIR ROUTINES?

Currently, I die after about 2 of the 2-minute boxing rounds (yes, I'm horribly out of shape, but I'm getting there).

woah shit, yesterday i went throught the whole 3-minute boxing tape. either the 3 minute tapes are easier than the 2 minute tapes or my cardio's improved

Wearing gloves, gloves and hitting bag, or shadowboxing?
Twice a week I'm pretty much exclusively going gloveless and doing the entire 2 minute boxing rounds tape, then hitting the bag later in the workout. I can't imagine doing the workout while hitting the bag.

I do the 3-min Thai Boxing track on my Fairtex banana bag in the garage...I have to make sure to warm up and stretch properly, or I never make it....but I can't do the whole thing without taking some shortcuts...like wearing much lighter TKO bag gloves (16oz gloves and I can't move my arms by the 5th round), omitting kicks/knees for a "rest" round, or doing a "cool down" round by shadowboxing the last 1 or 2 rounds...

...best damn workout for the time committment...

no gloves, i'll try it with gloves next week, i know gloves make it hundreds of times harder though

with gloves, keeping as-close-to-perfect form while hitting w/ KO power (on a bag), returning punches to the face and keeping hands up the WHOLE time = very hard.

How are you incorporating the uppercuts on a traditional heavy bag?

I usually just shadow them, or sometimes I just throw a body shot instead.

Sounds good. I'm going to start with 2 rounds shadow, 3 rounds gloved on the bag, 3 rounds shadow. I'll increase the gloved rounds when I have the gas tank for it. Currently I've been completing the whole 2 min box tape as a shadowboxing and conditioning drill.

i just tried the boxing cd (3 minutes). i did all 7 rounds for shadow boxing. man i'm drained.

is it ok to be doing the workout at maximum speed/power?

someone told me that it's a "waste" of energy to shadow box at high intensity.

can i gain anaeorobic endurance/stamina from doing this 5 times a week?

I just got my CDs a couple of days ago.
Bas says that you always go at 100% even when shadow boxing. I dunno why that would be a waste of energy. It's a great workout. If you did this 5 times a week I think you'd be in pretty good shape. Especially if you throw in the overall fighting and workout cds sometimes. Those are f*ckin tough.

I haven't trained or worked out in a month so after doing a few boxing rounds I felt it. It was great.

PS: A word of advice. If you're outta shape or haven't trained/worked out in a while, start of easy. Don't do 5 rounds full strength. I totally pulled something in my shoulder while throwing some of those left hooks. :)

TTT

hey guys i just finished off the 2-minute all-round tape with gloves on (OMFG i felt good afterwards), and after about 5 minutes or so it felt like i could go through the whole set again. would that be advisable to go that extra longer?

dan, I once did the thai boxing one, then the all around back to back, and I lived (and this was after my regular hour or so of stand-up training). I'm not sure I should have operated large machinery afterwards, but it can be done.

Advisable? I dunno. Listen to what your body, especially your joints, are telling you. I'm sure one could work up to being able to regularly back-to-back programs.

I just spit coffee on my monitor. That is funny. I'll just add to the thread that these are definitely worth the money. My 6 year old son shodow boxes while I hit the bag during the Thai Boxing CD. He loves it & thinks Bas is hilarious.

I was thinking of getting these, and after reading what everyone here says they sound like a great investment.
