JURASSIC WORLD v.2 (Dragonlord's Review)

Idk i mean if you think about it humans have trained all kinds of animals, its not like raptors would be more viscous or wild than any other animals. think of those dipshits who train tigers in the circus. It would be doable... Im not sure what a velociraptors animal counterpart is in the intellectual department though.

Maybe its cause of starlord's half serious/joking acting. I just cant seem to take him serious in this universe in comparison to sam neill.

TBH he seems to be the same character as in GOTG based off the trailer.

Prepare yourselves for comedic lines or one liners throughout the movie from starlord

Yeah i agree....the execution is kind of meh

It seems like the studio has put an embargo on early reviews. 4 days out and nothing.

^Embargo'd until the 10th. You'll get a lot of reviews and spoilers tomorrow.

You guys are jerks. It looks great and if you let your inner child shine through you'd know it.

That's what I like about you, we see eye to eye when it comes to movies, mainly action movies. :D

Speaking of action, have you seen Mad Max: Fury Road yet?

So I just came back from the Premier!

Overall rating. No spoilers.

It was fine. 5-6/10

Review. Minor Spoilers

* It went for more of a fantastical, adventure movie feel. People craving the scientific versimilatude of the first film will be disappointed. It's cheesy, reminicing more of Lost World and Jurassic 3.

* Pratt, Howard, and Khan all gave good performances. Pratt wasn't as comedic as you'd might think. He does the more serious performence competently.

* Bryce Dallas Howard ample cheesecake certainly made dull scenes more watchable

* Plenty of references to the original, they are generally handled pretty good.

* The humor is genuine, especially the first real joke is really clever

* The kid actors arn't insufferable, but they can't really hold up to the adults

* It might be just me, but the film kinda drags occasionally

* People liking "Clash of Dinasaours" will enjoy this movie. Basically, if the Ape vs Dinasaurs fight from King Kong entertained you, then this will be to your pleasure. It felt rather, kid-oriented, with this approach.

* Man I hate 3-D. It only really works to highlight where the fore-ground and background lies for us. Just abysmal and unnecessary.

* Kinda amazing how the CG in Jurassic Park 1 is still more impressive then modern CG. There is plenty of "be dazzled by how amazing our CG is puny humans!" moments in this film.

* The whole "Chris Pratt and his bro-raptors part", was just as cheesy as you'd expect. But it's still probably my favorite part of the film. It's built up a lot, and excecuted competently. So, yeah, it was fun.

* The plot is really predictable.

Fun thought. Spoliers.

So... when the T-REX at the end of the film is revealed, did anyone else have flashbacks to Terminator Salvation when young Arnold is revealed?:). Seriously, they're handled in the excact same manner! Here is an old icon, introduced a-new with the power of CG! It gave me quite the chuckle.

So is the T-rex the hero who takes out Indominus?

My money says so.

Chris Pratt is BS

It's crazy how Hollywood just picks someone and shoves then Down our throats as the next big thing.

The dude is pretty ordinary imo but Spielberg is looking at making the next Indiana Jones movies with him.

He also Reminds me of Matt Mitrione 😆

Oh yes. Yes I have. I gave it a 10/10 and lots of love. I had a huge smile on my face the whole time. :)

Anyone else felt starlord being able to control raptor was cringey?

Wait i haven't seen it yet but are you telling me he tamed one?

Movies are fiction sure but doesn't mean they have to get sillier.

JP1 was serious and made many ppl shit their pants at the time.
One of the things that was so great about it . Now you have movies like F&F going so over the top it's farcical.

And since they're doing well at the box office more are following suit.

My god, the amount of bitching about this movie is just ridiculous.

Chris Pratt did a great job, why do people bash movies and actors before they've even seen them?

I give this movie a 9/10. Best sequel of Jurassic Park by far for me.

JP1 was science fiction. like Alien 1. there was complex dialogue and the action scenes were complemetary to the plot. most movies nowadays are a sucession of action scenes full of cliches, with an oversimplified plot which is only there to link them, really simple conversations and some corny jokes thrown here and there.

it is like they think dumbing down the movies will make them more succesful.

It does. Easier to dub and sell in foreign markets. As well as the fact that Americans are throwing their money at stupid shit like Transformers.

Marvel's movie dominance is pretty much the only argument for producing better-than-mediocre movies as far as I can tell.
