Jumping attacks

I dont give a fuck why they wont do it. If they dont have the urge to fight and follow it through, then I dont give a fuck what they could or couldnt do. Only the guys who get in there and compete actually matter. Any of these "well I woulda,if it paid more money" can fuck off. It's all about the guys who actually fight. Who have the balls.

Big facts

It is a matter of physics. If a guy is planted on the ground and counters a jumping attack, he will hit you way way way harder than you hit him
If the jumping attack connects the force would be stronger because it's your force plus momentum, plus your bodyweight, plus the power from your strike that multiplies everything. If you are stationary it's only the momentum from them moving forward towards you that you can take advantage of, your stationary strike won't have the extra weight and momentum behind it that a proper jumping attack would.

Plus it's really hard to time and counter a real jumping attack that's done right. It's not worth the risk staying stationary trying to counter it. It's like staying still and trying to punch a defensive lineman running at your full force trying to tackle you. Even if you hit, the force would move you back easily. Especially if the jumping attack is a kick, there is no punch counter to that. That people that have got hit in the past have been due to sloppy superman punches, or jumping knees, that had bad timing due to being fatigued. Look at Yair, Zabit, Tenshin, no one is countering their jumping attacks - there is a reason why they don't.

This is all that would happen

That is actually a really good connection, look how much force was in that strike. Look how his head snapped way back and the force moved him back all the way to the cage. Compare that force to stationary punches and kicks. There is a another level of strikes unexplored in mma and other combat sports/martial arts.

Jesus Christ what has this place become.
You're thinking too small, just because it hasn't been done, doesn't mean it can't be done. Jumping attacks are under taught/trained/attempted in fights/martial arts. The Buckley KO recently that everyone went crazy for was a jumping kick.

Ghost of Tyson vs the ghost of RJJ will probably have better technique in it than any UFC fight this weekend, the concept of flying attacks makes me cringe
The Buckley KO that the whole mma world went crazy over is a jumping kick.

I got fucking dumber reading that post thanks TC
Then this post should help educate you. Jumping attacks are legit, it would be foolish and dumb to assume they are not legit threats when properly done. The Buckley KO the whole mma world went crazy over is a jumping kick. They work, people just don't teach/train/try them.

Even if Paul stood still that shit would have missed
It's because the whole technique was off and thrown way too far away. With his height he doesn't need to do jumping knees, he can just throw regular knees. He was aiming for the body with a jumping knee, that's pointless, if he wanted to attack the body just plant your feet and throw your knees hard to the body. His height makes that technique real easy. He barely got any height off the ground so that specific technique he used has a lot of holes and is open for counters easily.

I honestly don't give a fuck what you think. You come in every thread putting down every Black fighter and athlete out of pure insecurity. You're jealous, stormfront bum proving nothing but your ignorance to everyone here.

Don't bother replying. I promise you, It won't be read.

Jumping attacks are kind of lame as is. Flying knee is the exception.

Jump kicks, jump punches, and jump slams / throws are hardly ever used, they're just too slow, and fighters don't jump high enough (Jon Jones trying to dunk, for example. Bonus points for posting it below).

Now imagine, NBA caliber a level athletes like LeBron transition to the UFC. Jump kicks and punches are suddenly back in style.

Imagine LeBron or Dwight Howard jumping like 4 feet into the air and landing with a vicious elbow.

They could even jump so high that no fighters could reach them, making them near invincible if they kept spamming jump attacks.

I can't even imagine any counters to this. It's kind of insane. I mean, it requires a level height and athleticism, but it can be pulled off so that these fighters never lose, or even take a blow.

It would be an insta-win for the jump talent.

Thoughts ?
got a good laugh at jump slams. thanks ts
