Jose Aldo thinks Ngannou made big mistake

he fucked up by not fighting Jones before he pulled this shit. had he fought and beaten Jon he'd have A LOT more to bargain with because then he'd have proven he's at the very least the best fighter UFC has hands down and solidified him as being the best MMA fighter on earth to the casuals. the only other match i'd look for after that is a rematch with Gane so you can avenge that ugly decision with a spectacular KO and then you've left no doubt. NOW you can start to talk super fights be4cause there's nobody left.

See that's where you're wrong. Boxing fans are insecure and they know their sport has been emasculated for a long time by MMA, the superior product.

Watching one of their punch guys beat up a real fighter under their safe terms would mean a lot to them.

except they'd all point out that a youtuber slept a former world champion of the UFC.

Well they said it was minor injuries... then cancelled the fight.

Show me a fight from then on when he used them? They said in commentary on the Edgar fight he wasn't throwing them to avoid the takedown but he moved towards boxing style from muay thai thereafter.

Just because he didn't break anything doesn't mean there wasn't soft tissue injuries that could have impacted throwing the leg like a baseball bat

Whatever he does, he'd better do it quickly. We're approaching a year and a half since he's fought, he'll be 37 end of summer, Jones is about to beat both his best wins. I think quitting the UFC without having anything lined up was a big mistake, will certainly not get him what he thought he'd make, and the longer he waits the less relevant he becomes.

Aldo dropping knowledge on these boys. He's spot with most everything he said. A few guys at the top in boxing make a lot of money and skew the numbers. But, the pay scale from top to bottom is much better fur UFC fighters. Everyone thinks they can do what conman did, but don't understand that was a catching lighting in a bottle, and will likely never happen again.

Minor foot swelling and no broken bones or surgeries point to not very bad.

Fury (not as likely yet) or Wilder (much more likely). Even a Wilder fight would net him a lot of cash - probably a full year or 2 worth of UFC fights if not more.
Wilder himself isn't that big of a draw outside his fights with Fury. Francis is a moron.

A year or 2 when he was only fighting once/year for the last few years. He might get more than he got per fight on his previous contract, but probably not more than he would have gotten to fight Jones. Wilder's last opponent got $1 million and the event LOST money.

It also wrecks his negotiating for the future if he goes out and gets toyed with and KO'd. Pretty much his only chance to get into 10 figures for the rest of his career would have been the UFC deal. He isn't getting it with 1 boxing bout, and he's not getting more than 1.

Nothing official yet but the last thing we heard about where he's gonna go in MMA he said on The MMA Hour he was likely going to be signing with either ONE FC or PFL.
What the hell is he thinking? He's going to lose. And then nobody will want him.

If the UFC paid better Ngannou would still be there.
Jury is still out on his decision to leave - after dipping his toe in boxing there is Bellator where a name like Ngannou would clean up on endorsements.

I thinks its growing more evident fucked up.

Even if he did have one big boxing fight, he wouldnt get mayweather money and hed be exposed in probably humiliating fashion as a boxer.

Didn't Aldo ask for his release so he can box?
Aldo accomplished all he could in MMA and will go down as one of the greatest of all time, Ngannou left in the prime of his career and immediately after capturing the title, he completely ruined any chance he had of becoming one of the best heavyweights of all time, world of difference.

It doesn't take a genius to realize Ngannou is a moron, who could use some financial management. The way he reasons about these issues is worthy of a neanderthal.

Respect Aldo's thoughts but Ngannou is a heavyweight and a bigger star than Aldo ever was globally. People actually want to watch the big guys fight - it's not the same for smaller guys like Aldo.
Ngannou bigger star than Aldo? you have anything to back that up?

I agree with Aldo. Now that Frank isn't a UFC champion, there's very little incentive for guys like Fury or Wilder to take a fight with him. I do hope I'm wrong though.

How much you would pay Ngannou? Was 8million not enough? He came from a impoverish upbringing, how much more does he want? 30 million? 50? Ngannou got greedy, that is all it is.

They are probably about even.

I literally do not understand why people act like Ngannou is a star. There is literally no proof he is. People assume he is because he fits the big, exciting, heavyweight knockout artist built like a beast, but the reality is different.

His PPV’s haven’t sold much, his instagram followers or other social media engagement is pretty low. He’s 35. Anecdotally, not many of my casual friends know much of him and nor are they excited by him.

he barely speaks English.

I just don’t understand who told Francis he is a star. He isn’t.

Aldo forgets that Francis is in that 5 percent. That's a huge hole in his argument. People are jumping to conclusions too early; we will see how the Francis situation plays out.
Francis is not in that 5 percent. look at his ppv sales or social media numbers.
