The interest in Ngannou was that he was the UFC Heavyweight champion, baddest man in the planet. He aint anymore and hardly anyone believes he would have beaten Jon. Anyone can point out that he was getting outstruck by Ciryl Gane.

He trusted the word of pathological liar who is as mentally unstable as they come, Tyson Fury, who at the time said he is retired and only wants gimmick fights.

The fact is people think boxers get paid so much more than UFC fighters because of the 1% make so much in boxing and are waayy overpaid. No top UFC fighter will tell you how much they ACTUALLY make, these published pays are nowhere near what they really make.

Big Frank should have stayed with the UFC. I get that Boxing was always his dream, but he had a good thing going with MMA. I hope things work out for Francis though and that he doesn't regret his decision.

Especially in a sport like mma, peaks are fleeting. One day you're undefeated undispuited champ with back to back to back wins over legends, then one day you're a can used to prop up a young lion.

in doing all this Francis has wasted precious time. He could have fought in the UFC 3 times by now and been negotiating a new contract

See that's where you're wrong. Boxing fans are insecure and they know their sport has been emasculated for a long time by MMA, the superior product.

Watching one of their punch guys beat up a real fighter under their safe terms would mean a lot to them.

As much as I hate to say it, but it’s true.

This situation reminds me of Henry Cejudo’s retirement back in 2020. The UFC will move on without you if you can’t come to an agreement. Ngannou should’ve accepted the fight with Jon Jones. Defending his belt against the greatest fighter of all time would’ve been his best move.

Now he’s released and doesn’t have many options in front of him. I’ll always root for his success, it’s a shame we got here, but both parties are to blame.

I want really want to see Wilder vs Ngannou. That would draw some attention and a win would line him up for a fight against Joshua or Fury.

Funny because rumor has it he is going to PFL because he has no other prospects right now. That his prospects get worse the longer he is idle.

I do believe that was the case but he was near or at the end of a contract and by that time had a HOF career. It seems now the boxing thing for him is just to pursue something he's had an interest in and not to make a career out of it.
