Pereira is calling out jones for a fight at the White House, but Dana doesn’t seem adamant about it, like the other super fights that didn’t happen.

This is basically a GSP vs Khabib situation. Active GOAT champion vs ex-champ goat who didn’t lose his belt, and probably never going to happen.

i would say it is the biggest fight of all time even those jones is washed up. i don't think we have had a super fight of this caliber.

If the premise is champion superfights that we never got, then GSP/ Anderson is the one that got away. Khabib's prime champ years didn't quite line up with GSPs WW run.

However, Khabib/ Usman would have been a good fight that could have realistically happened.

GSP went to Abu Dhabi (iirc) during Anderson vs Maia and was shown on the broadcast and they said he was going to come in the cage after the match.

Then... as I recall, Anderson did his dumb shenanigans and Dana had a temper tantrum, where he oddly said he would "make it up to (the fans)" ... and they never did the fight

It was a whole entire retard buffet.

my point was : a very high level striker vs a heavier weight class high level rassler. You know, the weight difference has big impact on this analysis. Th heavier rassler - at least in theory - should have an easier job taking a lighter striker down then opposite

Why you went with Khabib instead of Anderson makes no sense at all.

GSP vs Silva is the biggest that that never happened in UFC's history, and even Jones/Silva didn't carry the same aura at the time. (That hypothetical fight made more sense to me than the GSP bout, but whatever). Even Fedor vs. insert whatever UFC HW champ here didn't have that same "This needs to happen!!!"-level behind it.

GSP vs Silva would have be a true actual superfight, not this bullshit modern era (overused) definition that gets rode harder than the town bicycle. They weren't just the champs of their division, they were titans.
