Yeah Gane is jacked but that doesnt mean shit. Jones went more for the power lifter HW physique (as much as he could anyways) than the ripped HW. I bet at minimum he is just as strong as Gane and has more than enough strength to get him down.

I really thought he was gonna be something... He won that ONE gold and then kinda fell off. Boltukaev had his moment too.
But once Sadulaev moved up to 97kg, that was that. Ain't no one replacing him anytime soon.
And all that fat is going to drain Gane even more when Jon's on top of him.

Jones is fat. I have a feeling he will look stuck in the mud on his feet. No way he is as agile and fast at that weight. Imo he should of came in fight shape. He's always been big and strong.

Sadulaev and Otoguro are the best p4p wrestlers in the world right now but Otoguro sat out the last two worlds due to injuries so I'm interested if he will do 2023 world's. But yeah, watching him at 19 win world's Gold and he struggled a bit with some of the best in the world as a teen in Muszukajev and Rashidov but by the time he was 22-23 he has lapped them and his countryman Higuchi. Otoguro is a beasssttt. If he can stay healthy could be a 3x gold Medalist easily. I expect in 2024 Sadulaev collects his 3rd gold and the poor bastard Snyder probably collects a silver or Bronze.
Jones will struggle to take Gane down. Jones struggles to take down taller LHWs, and Gane is 6'4'' 245 pounds yoked. I think Jones will get picked apart before he manages to clinch or take down Gane.

I don't think that's it at all honestly. I think he is a literal sociopath and his ego is incredibly large. He's said several times now that he doesn't think Gane is anything special and that someone like Thaigo Santos is a better fighter and a way tougher challenge.
I think he's working hard. He just doesn't have the body for heavyweight. Some guys with heavy muscle can move up a weight class and still look in shape (like Volk) but Jones is essentially moving up multiple weight classes if he's going to be in the 245-260 range. I mean maybe he'll prove us all wrong. That's what makes Jones great is his confidence and ego. Still, something tells me that he's going to learn quickly that HW is another ballpark and fighting guys that are natural HWs is going to be a different level.

To throw it out there, I don't think Jones really looks all that bad physically. You can still tell he's an athlete. It just looks like he's carrying around a high bodyfat % and that he's not in peak shape.
We all have a weight where abs start to show and you look really lean and cut. For Jones, that was 205. The argument will be is getting cut and lean peak performance or does it just look good? One thing is for sure is that Gane is 250lbs and lean/cut up. It's hard to be big AND lean unless you are a naturally big person that is in really good shape. Gane is a natural HW while Jones is a guy that ate himself up to the weight class. There is going to be a big difference.

Sure, but this goes to show that this match will be a fight between a true heavyweight and a bloated LHW, though.
Anyone has all the rights in the world to think that this is insignificant, however I admittedly do not share that view.
