Fedor had a style that relied on speed and reflexes much like Roy Jones. He fought with his hands down because he was physically gifted enough to get away with it and he used this style to lure his opponents in for counters. As they got older and physically declined they had trouble with this style but that doesn't mean this style was ineffective when they were at their best.

If Fedors striking was as bad as you claim (even though you're clueless and have no real life experience) then guys like Mirko, Hunt, AA and Schilt would have punched and kicked his head into the 18th row.

If I'm being real he's probably the most talented Heavyweight to compete until just a week ago. Did he fight the best fighters in a consistent pace? No. But he did fight who was available for him in Pride, besides Sergei & Barnett there was really no one else in the org. Now here is where it gets controversial, you have guys like @The Last King who goes around claiming Fedor beat this guy and that guy and his elite 18 title defenses, but then you look at his competition and it is very underwhelming, a bunch of cans and Japanese pro wrestlers. Fans on here go around belittling Jones for beating a older fighter in DC but praise Fedor for beating a 40yr one dimensional Coleman, Now when he fought good to elite competition at a consistent pace once he touchdown in America he then started to look normal. If Fedor fought better competition throughout his career, his record would look similar to how his record looked once he did. It's a always a one way street with Fedor, he fights fighters of his generation like Mir and nuthuggers go around praising him like he beat a prime Mir, but when he goes and loses to MW's like Henderson and argeubly Maldonado it's because he's out of his prime but fail to add in the fact his opponents are also out of their primes.

Fedor started to "look normal" 11 years and 40 fights into his career. That has more to do with age and mileage than it did with fighting in America.

Fedor fought 25 times in this first 4 years in MMA. That's almost as many fights as Jones has in 15 years.

Fedors wins over Big Nog 2x, Cro Cop and Arlovski when they were in their prime and in their 20s are up there with any 4 wins anyone has. Fedor won 18 consecutive fights after becoming champion in 2003 and was ranked the #1 P4P fighter in the world for 7 years. Unprecedented.

Mark Coleman wasn't one dimensional. He was an Olympic level wrestler with some of the best GnP in the sport and he was coming off a win over top 5 P4P in the world Shogun when he fought Fedor the second time and was 4 years removed from winning the HWGP the first time they fought. Porieir beat McGregor 5 years after McGregor became the champion and that win propelled Porier to a title shot.

Nobody with a brain gave Fedor insane praise for beating Mir and Sonnen but those wins were important intrinsically because if Fedor lost to them then clowns like you would define him by those losses and say he lost to "UFC rejects"

Fedor fought Maldonado nearly 17 years into his career at 40 years old. Anyone who uses fights that late into his career as some kind of metric for how good he was in 2005 is a special kind of stupid.
