Jon rises to the level of his competition and he got progressively more bored by the challenges. The perception that he's declined stems from that.
I think this whole HW talk is just a distraction. Either he took time off to just fuck around from boredom or, well, last time he popped, he took time off to bodybuild and now he's taken time off to bodybuild, so I don't know. Some of the rumors out there ring kinda true to me.
And if having a reach advantage was so crucial at LHW, more lanklets would be at the top, but they're not. So I'm not feeling the quasi-attempt at discrediting the earlier day talent who Jon beat.
The perception that he's declined comes from his age, the length of his career, and the fact he's barely scraping by average fighters which he never did before. No one stays at the top forever and Jones has already had a longer career than most. Time comes for everyone.
So many people want to deny reality and wait for the guy to get knocked out and go on a losing streak before they accept that he's past prime.
