It's a fight that is long past from when it should've happened and when there was some interest in it. Expectations of the Stipe Miocic we'll see are very low. I hope he surprises us by looking close his form of years ago and makes it a good fight.

I think Jones has been more active, is in far better shape, and hasn't been knocked out cold by Ngannou.

But please, show us your betting slip my guy. That way we can laugh at you when Jones demolishes Stipe in 3 minutes.
 
You'd have to be such a fool to pay for this PPV. No good fights on the main card - the only decent-on-paper fight is Chandler vs Oliveira 2

The original Chandler vs Oliveira title fight was one of the best fights ever, but this is a non-title rematch with Chandler having waited on the sidelines for Conor and turned 38y/o in the meantime

Hopefully this has some of the worst sales of any PPV ever, I get that not every title fight can be a banger, but at least stack the rest of the main card with good stuff. This is just insulting
 
I'll state the obvious.

Stipe has been through wars in the HW division. He received heavy damage in his fights against JDS, Cormier, Overeem and Ngannou 1. He's 42 years old and has lost via knockout in his last fight 3 years ago.

Jon Jones definitely has less mileage than him and obviously is younger.

If Jon wins, he'll have a great resume on paper but if Stipe wins, he'll definitely be the HW goat..
 
i dont give stipe much of a chance

jones isn't going to participate in any standup. the easiest path to victory for him is wrestling.

Stipe's paths to victory:

1) Jones isn't really recovered from his torn pec injury, which significantly limits him.
2) Jones suffers a freak injury and there's no Chael Sonnen exception.
3) Jones has aged more than we think he has, giving Stipe a real puncher's chance as opposed to a hail-mary puncher's chance.

Agreed. That being said, and with Stipe's level of being washed up taken into consideration, I can only seen one (lucky) way that Stipe can win, versus any number of ways Jones can get the W. And, like you say, if the odds are THIS DISPROPORTIONATE, . . .then what's the point of this fight. . . ?
 
Seems ridiculous. Yeah Stipe lost to Francis, but people act like that was at the end of a spiral.

Jones has 2 minutes of fight time in 4 years, and is coming off an injury.

Stipe is an actual HW, Jones looked like he just put on some fat for his last fight.

I think Jones will win, and should be favored, but those odds seem nuts.

Don't watch it then, no one will miss you. And if you think guys like Blaydes or Volkov would be a "big favorite" vs Stipe now you have no idea how betting odds work and are the casualest of casuals. Even Gane should be close to even odds.

Like it's been said before, no one's forcing you to watch it, you have the freedom of choice to not look at it and go watch women's volleyball of whatever the fuck it is you like to watch when you're not getting the MMA main events that casuals like. It's not mindless parroting, it's a minority opinion here, and if it's on the forum I'm going to reply to it. We all know you're going to watch it just like everyone else, and you'll be on pins and needles.

The value is definitely on stipe here especially inside the distance. I might just make that bet.
