Helwani says it's a 50/50 fight lol.
It’s a good thing he’s not a bookie. Either he’s clueless or a bad liar.

Noone is a fan of this fight except Jon Jones and Dans white for reasons unknown
If you’re a fan of this legacy fight, you’re the problem with mma.
Backing Stipe means you're counting on him to chin check someone who has never been hurt badly, is younger, has less wear and tear and isn't coming off a massive layoff after getting brutally KO'd. Not to mention the injuries Miocic must be dealing with. What the fuk that is 7 to 1 that is massive.. I don´t believe it miocic is definitely dangerous and that odds is not realistic
It's funny. I go to a lot of the fights in New York/New Jersey in person. I won't be attending this event. I'm not happy that we just had a great event in Abu Dhabi and now Stipe vs Jon Jones at MSG. It's not a great trend for the sport in the U.S..Normally, when you see -725, it means you’re so much better than your opponent. But in this case, it just shows how washed the opponent is. Any HW in the top 5 would be a big favorite vs Stipe now.
If you’re a fan of this legacy fight, you’re the problem with mma. This is not a job interview, it’s an mma fight. Don’t throw out resumes when there’s Aspinall the top contender. Aspinall is the next generation. And I want to see next generation vs old guard(like Topuria vs Holloway). That way it shows legitimacy of the HW belt.
He's 42 and hasn't been active. There is no reason to think he has the capability to bee competitive with Jones at this point. He might have 1 good round but that's it.That's way to big imo.
We don't really know what Stipe shows up to be honest. The fact that he was knocked out by Francis doesn't mean anything in this match up since Jon probably won't knock him out.
The long layoff and age is a factor of course but Stipe is a hard worker, have a championship mindset and is a beast still i think. Also should have good enough wrestling to not be manhandled like Gane.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it's a war.
Won't happen, Jones ego is too big to risk his legacy
Same haha. I'm just praying to the MMA gods that Stipe gets a freak KO. After all this waisted time it would genuinely be one of the funniest MMA moments ever, even if Dana White gloating after would make it bittersweet.I don't care enough about this fight to even complain about it, lol.
I am looking forward to this fight. I just hate the fact that the belt is on the line. Jones should have vacated after the injury, like Jiri and Hill did.
That could very well be the case. I wouldn't be shocked either. He's 42 and hasn't been active. There is no reason to think he has the capability to bee competitive with Jones at this point. He might have 1 good round but that's it.
This isn't a Randy Couture situation where he started MMA as a middle aged man and went from there up until he was senile nor a Hendo situation where TRT gave him a new lease of life, this is just an old, broken down fighter cashing in one last big paycheck.
Maybe read my comment? If Jones gave the belt up for grabs after the injury, Aspinall would be the champion right now. Jon - Stipe would just be a fun, legacy fight. Ngannou is not in the UFC, so it is a moot point. 3-4 years ago Ngannou - Jones was the fight to make.So you would take this fight over Jones Aspinal or Jones Ngannou?

Sincerely wishing you best of luck!!This is HW and Stipe has 10x more power than pillow fisted Jon.
I'll definately be putting money down on Stipe with those odds.
Agree with you entirely. Joke of a fight for the heavyweight strap, but I'm not against these legacy type fights in general when there's no real consequences.Maybe read my comment?
