Yup I used to mock boxing for this but UFC rank squatting has reached unreal levels. Atleast in boxing they discard fighters after a single loss.

If you test positive 2 times for steroids you get banned for life in a real sport

This is actually a really good thread because it gives objective facts that counter the revisionist history that Jones haters have been using.

Another funny point is how they act like Stipe was automatically trash because he hadn't fought in 3 years (even though his most recent fight was defending his title...) and obviously was incapable of beating anyone due to that, but Jones took 3 years off as well and came back to steamroll Gane like it was a walk in the park.
 
Teh UFC is to blame for this shit, not Jon. Sucks, cause Aspinal would’ve been a bigger star by now.

Additionally: the "media" who vote are mostly Facebook/Instagram pages who may not cover MMA and may not even cover sports in general, with some of these members' URL's even being up for sale when you visit their sites.

One of these voters exposed the UFC's ranking system over 5 years ago in that the UFC tells them who to vote for based purely on marketability, which is why inactive fighters who receive undeserved title shots have a head scratching-rank.

Based on FightMatrix' rankings, who actually demote/remove inactive fighters:

Ngannou was #1 and Gane was #2, when Jones defeated Gane.
Aspinall was #1 (also the interim Champion) and Miocic was Unranked, when Jones defeated Miocic.

Miocic hadn't fought since Mar 2021 and hadn't been ranked since Apr 2022 (Jones and Miocic fought Nov 2024).

I'm not even sure right now anyone would care about the HW division if it wasn't for the Jones BS going on.

Tom would've fought a few of these guys during this time if Jones was gone and he'd literally have no one anyone would be willing to pay to see him fight. They'd probably be begging Alex to go too HW right now.

So as much as it sucks right now, I'm not sure as fans we'd be that much better off if Jones had just rode off in the sunset after Stipe fight.

How did Jones make Ngannou look bad by ducking him for years, then moving up to HW the exact day that Ngannou leaves, and then beating two guys that Ngannnou has already beat.

That is the dumbest shit I've ever heard.

F the HW division, and Dana for allowing Tom’s prime years go to waste. Not stripping the belt from Jon, and Jon not vacating is terrible business. But hey they have a monopoly as an MMA platform and our opinions are a grain of salt.

I remain intrigued that you manage to appear in the first few posts of literally every Jones thread while seemingly convincing yourself that you are 'trolling' others.

No different than usual business for HW. Couture tried to leave to fight Fedor. Brock got sick from diverculitis. Cain destroyed it by being out with injuries. Then Stipe/DC took 3 years for a trilogy. Ngannou took a year to defend against Gane. Jones spent a year to recover an injury to fight Stipe.

Lets face it, we should never expect things to get better. Aspinall has even already had knee issues, wouldn't be shocked if he's champ and has issues too. HW is a cursed division.
