Oh boy. This is the problem with all these undeserved titleshots that has been handed out in recent years.

"If Yair/Stipe/Colby can get a titleshot from one (or 0) win, so can I" must be the line of thinking.

Increases entitlement, gives us fewer exciting contender matchups because everyone will try to pick the right fight(s) to take them to the one or two fight winstreak necessary for a new shot.

Just imagine how much more hype there would be around UFC 317 if we had some combination of Gaethje/Arman/Paddy fighting for the next titleshot.

Ship the loser of a titleshot down to #5, and demand a win against one top 10 guy and one top 5 guy minimum to get a new shot.

I would say he shouldn't get it because:

-Arman winning 1 fight is ahead of him
-Holloway beating Poirier is ahead of him, and that rematch is more compelling at 155

He should fight Paddy.

so apparently beating a totally non-elite fighter in Fiz, then a past it Poirier who also has never won a title and then beating a 2 week noticed Fiz again (whom he beat) warrants a title shot.

Justin clearly has tunnel vision. beating who you do does not mean you are anywhere near deserving of a title shot especially when the person who got it over you literally outclassed and choked you out.
