LW is very exciting especially with Islam out of the picture since he pretty much gutted that division. 155 has a murderous row of fighters in Ilia, Arman, Charles, Gaethje, Paddy, Holloway & Hooker. Guys like Moicano, Gamrot, & BSD are dangerous as well.

He got slept by Holloway, didn’t look great against an injured Fiziez on 2 week notice. Most fans were outraged at the idea of Islam defending against Gaethje, they should be similarly outraged at the idea of Ilia getting his first LW defense against Gaethje when you have guys like Arman, Pimblett, etc who are much more intriguing matchups and deserve it more.
Weaker competition? After beating Justin, Charles lost to Islam then beat a Dariush who hadn't lost in 5 years coming from a 8 fight winning streak (the start of the downfall). Then Charles lost to Arman on a split decision and won against an over the hill Chandler.
In 2 years who we got besides Ilia Paddy and Charles?

- Dustin and JG are 1-1, when they were both in their prime, Dustin put him away in a fun fight
- Max out classed Justin over 5 rounds then literally beat him to sleep.
Dustin is retiring because he doesn't have it anymore. JG never had it - his entire career almost as a rule, he loses to ranked fighters. Getting to go 1-1 with Dustin was the exception not the rule.
Justin is solidly top 10 and a fun fighter, no he is not a contender. He is not on that skill level and has never been on that skill level, which is why he gets blown out of the water against elite fighters.
